Fury, Klitschko Presser..

Just been watching on IFL and I might be showing my age, but absolutely hated it. Tyson being as obnoxious as ever which you half expected I suppose. The "press" questions were absolutely terrible. Half of them sounded like plants. Is this what constitutes modern-day journalism ? All a bit embarrassing and a bad day for boxing IMO.

Got to say I found it pretty funny actually, and did what it had to do in creating plenty of headlines.
Do agree about the questions though, the two women (one was from Irish radio or something) struck me as a bit odd really laid into Wlad regarding hand wraps etc.

if the two women were not plants they may have well just sat there legs akimbo with Fury shaped dildos up their snatches of the presser were entertaining but the sensible part of me does agree with the OP that it's a shame promoting a boxing match has to resort to such nonsense to pull in the punters. Way it is though, so deal with it or switch off.

Tyson knows how to get people talking about him. I find him quite a funny guy to be honest. That probably says a lot about my level of maturity and humour but I always have a laugh when he's about. The fight should sell itself but after the first offering maybe some of Tysons antics will help turn a few heads? If some of the journalists were plants and were there to unsettle Wlad then so what? He's had it his own way for far too long now and after the last time I wouldn't blame the Furys to try every trick in the book to piss him off. What goes around comes around.

Aye, the Irish journalist's question was a bit strange. Surely she didn't expect Klitschko to give her an answer to a question like that. It seemed more that she was trying to antagonize him or something.

It did the trick, he's made a lot of the back pages.

Well I quite enjoyed it as I am bored of the repetitive corporate media trained robots that litter sport, all scared of protecting their image and endorsements.
And I am confused by this comment

I mean, it's not close to new, being outlandish and loud, the biggest name in the sports history did it in the 60's and even then, he nicked it from Gorgeous George he used it in the 50's. It promoting, headlines and attention gets exposure. Basic A B and C

Fury was way too fat. I can't understand how an elite fighter can reduce itself this way.

He was also sticking his gut out pretty hard so was not as fat as he appeared.

When you know how it works i.e. it's almost entirely contrived pantomime, it's like knowing how a particularly basic conjouring trick is done and seeing naive five year olds lapping it up as miraculous. Dull and lacking in insight. The fight itself interests me as do the genuine personas of the two fighters.

Rubbish, look at those love handles.
Also, he looks to have lost a lot of muscle mass since the last fight. Clearly hasn't been in training at all.

Yeah, deserves everything he gets. Being the challenger is a whole other ballgame.
I'm sure Wlad's people will have booked their own amenities though, not like they can't afford it.

Fair point and I can see that angle too. My immediate reaction was to enjoy it though.

Fury doesn't look in any kind of shape with just over 2 months to go

This was him on the scales when he defeated Klitschko easily last time out. It's not bodybuilding.

I agree. As I said, he was not as fat as he looked as he was pushing stomach out and someone replied that he was that fat, he had love handles. So thanks for posting that picture, shows he is a big guy who does not strive to be body beautiful. Hell I am a bodybuilder but actually want to see him trounce Wlad and would not mind him doing AJ too, a little show that it is not about how you look that counts.

The 2 women had to have been plants, I mean the first question from Irish radio was well confusing to say the least and how she thought she was gonna get wlad yes I cheated.
I think it was entertaining even for wlad letting his feelings go

Yep. Bodybuilfing is a great sport. Boxing is a great sport. But they're different. Some people need reminding of that from time to time.

I thought the Irish woman was actually a bloke pretending!
Cocky Fury tells Wlad how he can win!

Fury is actually serious in telling Klitschko the exact tactics he should use to win their second fight in July - Did Ali ever do this in his career? You gotta love Fury's cockyness and his flair for lighting up the sport with his personality -

Fury is an incredible personality and boon for the sport - he is like a white Ali taking political stands and just saying whatever he thinks - and he's a very intelligent person in and out of the ring - Boxing has finally gotten it's new Ali type personality and he is Tyson Fury - Fury can transcend the sport with his controversies and his great boxing talents - it's a shame the media despises (and fears) his personality because he is a strong Christian who is a threat to their control over the public - Thank God for this Godsend Tyson Fury he is just what boxing and this crazy world needs :)
