Sounds as though the belts aren't just the boxing ones, poor fella Kevin would have been boxing right about the time I started to get into watching boxing in the mid-90's. I seem to remember he was in some real battles. Didn't he fight for a world title?

OK, before looking it up (& it's 1am & I'm almost through a bottle of wine) I'm going to say it was Trinidad & he got done in four. But that's not a confident guess...

nearly spot on mate. TKO3 to Trinidad. Trinidad was a top fighter. Lueshing also fought Kirkland Laing there I notice, in Laing's 5th from last fight.

He lost to Trinidad in 3 (not bad) & then Harry Simon in 3 as well.

The loss to Trinidad was in Tennessee & it was a bloody HUGE bill. I remember listening to it on BBC World or something - which had Akinwande v Welch as the main fight. Bloody hell, there's a memory. It was weeks before I left England to work on ships. I was in a bedsit in Clapham above a Reggae club

I was at Laings NEXT fight in Brixton. Bizarre bill. They had a Jamaican (Faux Jamaican?) DeeJay who would say something like "BooYah" when a knockdown occurred and played music between each round. Lots of locals waving guns or fake guns in the air whenever a decent punch was landed.

Ross Hale won & brought a decent (noisy) crowd with him. Justin Fortune (future fitness 'expert' to Khan) was wider than he was tall. And shite too although he did look a tough stubby bastard.

And when we got back to my mates VW Camper van someone had broke in & stolen pointless shite

first time I saw music between rounds was a Hunky Dory's bill in Dublin and it was a great show to be honest. It didn't seem to bother anybody and I very much doubt the fighters mind.

I think he put Trinidad on his arse if I remember rightly?

The two Saunders fights are worth a watch.

We were part of that noisy Bristol crowd,Ross stopped Garry Barron and another Bristol boy Dean Cooper fought Kirkland Laing,pretty sure Gary Stretch boxed on that card too.
It was a crazy night though,some kind of dancing girls in the Ring between fights which seemed pretty odd at the time.
Also seem to remember that not everybody got paid either.

I saw Lueshing quite a few times and then when he got his second world title shot and was brushed aside by Harry Simon.

Great left hook on him and always well turned out if he was in Bromley or somewhere like that.

I seem to recall he used to donate some of his purse to NSPCC and he'd had a tough childhood.

When Benn got ultra religious a few years ago and sold all his boxing stuff, Lueshing was dealing with it. I spoke to him a few times, he was a nice guy and I believe all the proceeds were going to charity. He still had his WBO belt and wanted me to make an offer but wouldn't give me any sort of ball park figure so I baulked.

I'm sure an unknown at the time Adrian Carew/Dodson stopped him in a stage of the London ABA's which was a big shock...
He was an exciting Pro to watch & what a story to tell the grandkids that not only did you share a ring but you also knocked down the hall of famer that is Felix Trinidad :TU:

I was there for Laing but Ross stole the show. I remember you lot were all up close to the left of the ring from where we were sitting.

Yep, big left hook. If he'd connected with another huge one while Trinidad was on his way down who knows what could have happened.

I saw live Geoff McCreesh / Kevin Lueshing.... Great fight

The punch v Trinidad flattered him but nevertheless he put an elite level fighter on the canvas.
He was a decent British champ, and it shows again what hardship many fighters go through to give them that edge in the ring.
Not many could compete with him on the hardship front.

There arw a couple of fights on my channel on youtube. The Laing fight is certainly there, im sure it was a stoppage on a cut.
