Most British boxing fans are fans of Tyson Fury and want him to do well.

Tyson Fury seems to be mentally unstable.

One day he's disparaging gays, next day he kisses a gay man, one day he's moving to the USA, another he's making accusations of racism, one day he's praising Klitschko, next he's disparaging Klitschko, next day he's talking about Joshua's penis, next day he's saying he's going to retire.

He says Klitschko is a boring boxer, but when he was Fury's age he was much better to watch - Wlad was always trying to KO his opponents.

Fury is safety first. Compare Fury's DULL fight with Kevin Johnson to Anthony Joshua's. Tyson "The New Safety Pin" Fury.

I think that is a fair assesment of why people don't like him.

Oh and the fact that his fighting style is boring as could be . Most people want to see tear-ups and ko's , you are not going to get that sort of entertainment from him.

How can a Wlad fan slag another fighter off for being boring?

You've lost the plot since Wlad lost.

Your sad little campaign against Fury is pathetic.

Fury is a divisive figure because that's the way he wants to play it.
Respecting his achievement and liking, or even warming to the man are two different things.
The idea that a lack of respect drives his behaviour is a nonsense. No-one is watching Fury to be entertained. He spoils, leans, mauls. It's effective but not good to watch. Fact is he needs something more than his boxing to create interest, so he acts the villain, the joker, the fool. Maybe his much reported bigoted comments play in to that, or maybe he's just a bit of a knob. Either way any antipathy that comes his way is of his own making.

Everyone underestimated him and nobody, including the English media ever expected him to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. Once you said he sucks, there isn't really a way back right? They expected David Price to do better as him. Next to that, he doesn't look like a top boxer at all, he seems like just a random tall guy.

Brits who understand boxing have huge respect for him as a fighter, we might not agree with what he says but anyone who knows the sport has huge respect for what he achieved in Germany. It will go down as one of the biggest upsets a Brit has ever pulled off.

Nonsense.

Tyson Fury went on and on about needing a KO to win in Germany, but he DIDN"T EVEN TRY FOR ONE.

In reality The UK is the country where foreign boxers are most likely to be robbed. Sergey Kovalev when he fought Cleverly showed the only way to win in the UK! :TU:

And the refs in the UK are very quick to wave their arms in favor of the home boxer (the notorious "British Stoppage").

Klitschko will need a KO to win the rematch and the ref will be on Tyson Fury's side.

I think there are a number of reasons.

1 - The media don't like him because he's not the most politically correct person in the world so they'd rather focus on safe, boring, Anthony Joshua.

2 - He hasn't got the most exciting style. Casual fans in the UK like either the KO artists like AJ, the brawlers who go all out in their matches like Froch and Hatton or fast-paced, exciting fighters like Khan. Fury is too "boring" for the casuals.

3 - He's a gypsy.

4 - He tries to latch too much onto his Irish roots that I think puts people off from getting behind him.

Tell that to John McDermott. No way he didn't beat Fury that night, terrible decision for the home fighter by a notorious ref

Blame Fury, not the British public

Look at Anthony Joshua; why is he more popular than Fury?

You can be charismatic without being homophobic & arsey.

Most of the hardcore element of fans like Fury. He rubs a lot of the casuals up the wrong way and isn't exactly 'media friendly' so that's why he gets so much static. I personally find him quite refreshing and entertaining.

Tyson Fury has had every chance to get the fans behind him. He fought his early career on free television, got the gift decision to keep his unbeaten record and even his name had people talking before he had even turned pro.

Unfortunately his shoddy physique, ugly style and outdated views have turned the public off of him. When people pay for a PPV and have some hurky jerky bloke slapping an old bloke moving through tar, they aren't going to appreciate Klitschko's reign and the achievement of doing that in Germany, the are just going to think "what a waste of money, flipping hell boxing is boring".

And then they buy a PPV featuring super hunk Anthony Joshua smashing some talentless tomato into a paste and think "OMG, AJ's so cool! I'll keep chucking my money at that bloke!".

Yeah, he outbored the most boring fighter on the planet. No way he's boring against Wilder or Joshua, he'll get knocked out but it won't be boring.

His last three fights have been boring....Chisora II in particular was dreadful, maybe even worse than the Wlad fight.

He's definitely been in some fun ones, but he seems more disciplined now and less prone to brawling.

Fairly educated comments welcome and appreciated.. Cmon man.. You've gotta come with a better opinion than that.. Almost childish comment.. Pfft
I really don't think it's any more or less complicated than that. Tyson comes out dresses like Batman, brags about being fat, says he doesn't wanna be a fighter, says Women belong on their backs or in the kitchen....I mean come on. What do you want me to say? That he's a great role model? He's a jackass with stupid behavior and opinions.

I like fighters that aren't jackasses. Tyson Fury is a fighter that's fun to dislike I guess, but his fights are boring so it's not that fun.
