From this list Mike Tyson, but from the active boxers right now I think Povetkin hits the hardest

Lewis. Tyson hit with rapid combinations.

I went with Foreman, but it is a tough one.

Shavers was a hard hitter but usually (not always see Jimmy Ellis) needed a combination of shots to get his guy out of there.

Povetkin? That's a strange call. Admittedly his power seems better than it used to and hes' had some good knockouts lately, but I can't erase the vision of him struggling to hurt little Eddie Chambers and taking so long to wear down an aging Chris Byrd. Just looking at Top 20 boxers, I think Wlad, Wilder, Joshua, Ortiz and Stiverne have more one punch power, possibly Parker too.

I think Shavers was the biggest puncher ever, but if we're talking one punch power, then I'm not so sure.

The consensus is on Shavers I think. I remember (correct me if I'm wrong) that Holyfield stated that even old Foreman > Tyson/Lewis etc in the power stakes and Ali stated Shavers > Foreman. Not the most scientific method but no worse that just the eye test or going by numbers. Holmes has also stated Shavers > Tyson / Cooney, and Lyle has stated Shavers > Foreman as well.

Despite his unwillingness to throw regularly, Wlad has to be a part of the conversation. Stewart claimed Wlad > Lewis in power though he may have been motivated by something other than truth to say that.

Definitely Foreman, pure blunt force.

Foreman or Shavers are certainly good calls..

But, I have to imagine that the pure physics would suggest Lewis, so he gets my vote.

A couple of guys not mentioned would be Marciano among the smaller guys and Wlad in the more modern HW era.

Nice list though, every guy on there hit like a truck.

tough tough question.

athleticism of Lennox
Brute force of George Foreman
or
One hit specialist Shavers

Max Baer worth a mention

George Foreman. In that Ali fight my god he was trying to kill him. There was one punch in particular that crosses my mind. It missed but holy shit it looked like a missile launch coming from his shoulder lol

A lot of people say Shavers, but I'd have to go with Foreman. He had ridiculous strength and power.

I think biggest puncher and most power behind a punch are slightly different. I'd say Ernie had faster hands.

That's why I wrote right now, but I admit, he got a lot stronger after the Klitschko fight.

ask yourself. how long would huck last against wilder in a ring? wilder would brutalize him inside 5.

tyson was more punches in bunches to get the deal done, although he also was a great 1 punch ko artist, he had not enough weight behind his punches.

1 punch i think lewis did punch harder than tyson, athletism, the leverage. the rahman II, one of the biggest 1 punch kos ever, devasting.

foreman or lewis

Wilder has never hit the wall, Povetkin has and still won! Povetkin is the only boxer in the world I've ever seen winning while hitting the wall.

I went with Foreman.

Povetkin is definitely not the hardest hitter of the current elite heavyweights. Hits hard though but his KO percentage isn't as good as Foremans.

Tuas left hook is his one punch.

Tyson I think all punches except the jab were his one punch. I base this on his opponents post fight feedback stating that Tyson hurt them all over.

Lewis one punch is his right cross but his jab is killer as well. Not sure if he's knocked anyone down with his jab but definitely remember him flicking opponents heads back with it.

Foreman the right cross. I imagine Foremans cross would be like Zeus throwing a 100kg javelin at your face and that's why I went with Foreman.

Wilder met very durable fighters, Stiverne and Duhaupas, by the way.

And Povetkin became KO king just because his "wallet" Ryabinsky(with Rosneft/government money behind him). So Ryabinsky can pay crazy money to bring Charr, Takam and Perez to Russia and give some bonus for being hit and to dive. Now he is paying Wilder 5M (more than he was paid his all carreer) to go to Russia...

From list - Shavers, then Tyson then Foreman. Even Ali said Shavers hit the hardest.

Tua was dynamite and Lewis was similar to Klitschko. You missed Razor Ruddock of list.

Active - W Klitschko then Wilder/Joshua.
