WTF ??? Have they gotten any shame ?

A lot of fighter's do this in there first defence its a easy payday while the bigger fights are around the corner.

Pretty awful opponent. I mean I get the whole easy first defense thing, but did they need to drop that low?

I don't buy the "easy first defence" crap. If you're a world champ, you should be facng top 20 fighters at least. The only exception for me is domestic rivalries. Then it can be excused as a case of settling who is the countries best.

Who are you trying to kid??? He's going to go for the weakest possible opponents and he'll get a lot of cooperation from his org. I don't expect to him Callum Smith or Badou Jack next or anything.

He is ranked 44 with Premier Boxing Organisation. Highest ranked fighter beaten was 35.

Having seen him fight I think he's better than the dreadful BoxRec ranking suggests, but I still see him as a poor opponent and considering the two failed attempts at beating Santos I think it's fair to say that he couldn't even win at EBU level.

I know Britsch because his 2 wars with Roberto Santos. First they robbed Roberto Santos, in the second he was destroyed. For me if he was from some other country he would be a journeyman with a 15-15 record or so.

Ugh, this garbage is gonna be on the Crawford/Postol undercard? At least if they just got some decent veteran like Vera or Lopez the fight would have some value, but to grab some abject nobody from a lower weight class makes it truly worthless.

I thought they'd actually give Crawford/Postol a decent undercard because neither guy is an established PPV draw, but I guess not. Very disappointing.

Billy Lyell was the chap who Brittsch beat. Lyell had a good win over John Duddy (then ranked 11) then some tread water wins and losses to good fighters so was ranked 35 by the time Brittsch got to him.

Ouergi is ranked 64 but at light-middle.

No doubt Brittsch is not a very good opponent but this type of world title fight still happens almost everyweek.

Garcia was a superstar. Maybe your definition of superstar differs from mine but its undeniable that Garcia was much more famous then compared to what Ramirez is now. Nobody even heard of Zurdo before his last fight.

Ramirez is arguably the best SMW. Facing an opponent ranked #131 AT A LOWER WEIGHT CLASS is a disgrace. Salka at least wasn't rated that low.

The Abraham shutout was one of the best recent wins at 168, he had a much better performance against Medina than Degale did, and obviously a far better performance against Edwards than Jack did. I don't really see him as being a level below anyone at the weight and this is a shitty opponent for him....I mean if you're going to get someone as mediocre as Britsch can they at least be a SMW? I guess in Ramirez's defense he beat a good opponent only last month and may well be sitting around doing nothing instead, but it just seems like they've gone needlessly low here.

I think Ramirez has a good argument for being the #1 SMW. DeGale has skills, but who is his biggest win? Dirrell? Bute? It's hard for me to rank a guy #1 when his biggest wins are over guys who are maybe borderline top 10 at best. Not to mention DeGale really struggled with Medina who is more or less a C-lister. I thought a draw was a real possibility in that fight, the 117-111 cards for DeGale were very generous.

Really, you put a guy who schooled an acting champion on the same level of accomplishment with Smith who fought nobody ?

Last weekend demonstrated (once more) that DeGale and Jack are not elite fighters, so putting Ramirez at least on the same level with them is natural.

Abraham is not a champion. He is a belt holder and only because he fights C level bums for last five years, since he was schooled by all top dogs in the division, including Dirrell.

Apart from that Abraham win Smith has fought better opposition then Ramirez, which levels up theirs records.

Anyone seriously thinks Abraham has a chance against Callum Smith, Give me a break.

Abraham is inconsistent but I still think a dominant win over him is worth more than Dirrell or Bute.

Abraham wouldn't beat Smith, but I think he'd have a damn good chance of beating Bute, Jack, and even Dirrell in a rematch.
