Its reported this morning that Joshua has signed a deal with SHOWTIME for his next few fights after the mismatch with some guy who lost in the first round at the 2012 Olympics. ( I know its Breazeale, I'm being sarcastic !) .
Does that mean he still fights at around 11pm in this country and they show it live at around 5/6pm, or does it mean he's off like Khan to America and fighting at 5am.

I'm sure it will still be on at times to suit the UK market and will just be afternoon gigs in America to build his profile up over there.

Last thing they want to do is stop the ppv gravy train over here!

I think they will probably try and stage it the evening US east coast time, and will be on 1.00 a.m or so here, I'm pretty sure that's what they've done in the past on showtime shows when Hatton started getting coverage. Maybe my memory is off here though.

Yeah, they've done US East time on a few occasions. Anything from around 11pm our time til 1am, main event.

I can't remember any events starting between midnight and 2am.

think the last silly o clock fight over here was Froch - Dirrell. Hopefully this deal leads to a wilder fight.

Fights finishing at silly o'clock here can cause serious logistical problems for people at venues.

I'm sure Hatton was around 2am. I remember having to watch it again the following day because I was pie eyed by the time it came on!

That probably puts to bed any ideas of Fury vs Joshua at Wembley stadium, as I remember Hearn saying that events at Wembley need to be done and dusted by 11pm.

Wembley is dictated by TFL because of the crap location of it. So everyone has to get the tube back to central London. Not sure what time the lines run till but I can't imagine many being on at 2/3am.

That will be difficult with his previous drug related offences, I've heard US customs are very strict on such matters.

Both after 2. I was at both.

When he fought Martin the show started at around 4:30pm Eastern. Showtime also played Frampton Quigg live. They also do replays later that night.

I'm well chuffed with this news

Does Mr Haymon now own a percentage of AJ.

I can see a UK staged PBC event on the cards in the next year.

Will be 24 hr soon, though not sure if that's the entire network.

AJ will go to the States if and when:

1. There's more money to be made fighting there.
2. Joshua can get in.
3. Hearn has secured Matchroom's position (or Joshua jumps ship)

Would he be able to with his drug conviction?

I fon't know. That's what I was getting at. I don't know what he got convicted for but I assume it was just a bit of small time dealing? He doesn't strike me as having the gumption to be any more than a low level street pusher.

From what I understand with a good legal team minor convictions can be overcome.

For the average Joe, any declaration of prior convictions means being sent straight home, never to return.

I have to lie every time I go to the states on the boarding card, because of a fine and caution I got 23 years ago!

He's high profile ,he's been convicted of drug offences , I would be very suprised if they let him in ,If they do i can see him losing his massive following in the UK . People just will not stay up all night to watch him KO someone he could of beat,when he was in the ameteurs .and the yanks certainly won't get conned into it like the British do .
