Is there a chance Hughie might actually be better than Tyson?

1st of I'm in agreement with most that Hughie is dull to watch,he doesn't have much power even though he's still young he's never gonna be explosive, his technical ability does look good though, simple yet very effective, he hasn't dropped many rounds, the ones I've seen him lose is due to work rate as opposed to being outboxed or hurt, the Kassi fight was dire but he was dominant against an experienced fighter who's been on the wrong end of some dubious decisions against higher ranked fighters than Hughie, plus for what its worth I blame Fred for stinking the joint out the same way I blame Wlad for stinking the joint out against Tyson
Tyson Fury is a great boxer and rightfully No1 but his out of the ring exploits take away the fact that he's quite "boring" too,he does carry more power than Hughie but its his flaws which are the most exciting thing to watch in the ring, flaws that he seems to have addressed and flaws that Hughie hasn't shown....yet
All in all i think Hughie is doing great so far at this age and stage,he's beat a couple good opponents, put the rounds in and I'd like to see him fight for the British/Commonwealth titles then European etc then by that time and age I think he'll be well equipped to make a fist of it at world level

I've always felt that Hughie has got it, skills pay the bills! Don't matter how hard you punch if you can't get them off.

I really need to see more of him. Tyson is the undisputed champ. Hughie has it all to do and plenty of time to do it in. Maybe in a few years. I'd fancy him heavily against the likes of Chisora and Price right now.

He's only 21 and still has a lot to learn but from what I've seen of him so far, I can't see him being better than his cousin. However, time is very much on his side so let's wait and see.

His skills and style are better, somehow Tyson got so much more reach that Hughie will probably never win against Tyson, or at least not before Tyson is clearly downgrading.
I see that Hughie is a very smart fighter, a patient fighter, pretty much like Lennox Lewis.
Tyson even said this a long time ago, Hughie fights smart from the start, unlike Tyson did, Tyson sometimes loses his mind during the matches and get's a bit reckless.

I think his punch power will likely end up being similar to Tyson's once he matures, assuming his health issues are sorted, at Hughie's age he wasn't knocking out people that probably aren't as good as the one's Hughie is fighting either. I don't think his ceiling is as high, but I think he may have more dedication and longevity.

I've only ever seen the Kassi fight; have always been busy when his fights have been on previously.
Purely from that fight, not a chance in hell. He looks extremely limited in the power stakes and pretty average in other departments.
It would, however be foolish and unfair to judge from that fight alone so for me the jury is out.
He does have a skin complexion that I've never, ever seen for a boxer before though.

Maybe him and Tyson will do one of those calendars the Klitschko brothers did?

No. I can't see him developing and improving as quickly as Tyson did.
He needs huge improvements in his medical condition and punching power to reach the top level.

I think he has very good skills for a heavy but lacks power. This may come with age but his health issues may undo him I am not convinced he is fully fit and wouldn't be surprised if he had an autoimmune condition which will finish him. But we will see. As for being as good as Tyson he has one major disadvantage he isn't as big and this will always be Tysons ace in the pack gaining him reach advantage over almost anyone and reach with the skill to use it is a massive plus in boxing.

Because of the way his fights are funded he's fighting who needs him after who needs him. Whilst this could well make him a better boxer it will turn off the support of all but the shrewdest observers.

Slowly slowly catchie monkey for hughie. I wouldnt bet against it at this stage due to the fact that hes clearly working hard on his trade and is bloody hard to nail down. That's a very good start.

I think he will be a world champion at some point.
Hughie is boring to watch, absolutely. But he's won comfortably in every fight so far, beat Rudenko more comfortably than top 10 fighters Lucas Browne did, beat Kassi with ease who arguably should have wins over Brezeale and Arreola.
He's good. Boring, but he is winning comfortably. I'm glad they're not rushing him too. Take things nice and slow so he can develop.

Maybe. I don't think either of them will be remembered as especially good when all is said and done.
