Golovkin's footwork is amongst the best in boxing. He does it with such ease that some people don't notice it. Also he rarely uses most of his defensive skills because he always dominates and doesn't need to defend. He is technically a brilliant boxer and his brilliant footwork is often overlooked. He also had great amateur pedigree. He is not just a big puncher, far from it.

I agree. His jab, a punch that Canelo doesn't really have, is very good too. That along with his footwork means that he doesn't just plod forward like Alvarez does.

Yes, he illustrated this to an extent against David Lemiuex. His footwork is outstanding and combined with his defence, is dangerously aggressive. He has something like 350 amateur fights, many at world level and against some of the best middle and super middleweights of this current era.

Canelo was bothered early on by several Khan attacks, so I am not convinced he can stand up to GGG for 12 rounds. Canelo seems slow footed but I think this is because he is trying to load up on every shot which would be a tactical mistake against GGG because it will make him more available to be hit by counters. Also GGG has shown to have a good beard. GGG would stand in the pocket and break him down unless Canelo tried to be the mover where he might have a chance.
