160lb not a problem

Canelo and Oscar are now saying 160 is not a problem, what will they be saying tomorrow when the adrenalin subsides, Oscar said for GGG to answer his phone tomorrow because he'd be calling, do they feel that performance against khan, a welter, was so outstanding, most had canelo losing the first 4 rounds, I'm interested to see what the next 15 days brings

For the sake of his word as a promoter, if Oscar said that publicly then he HAS to make that call. Ball will be then in GGGs court and then after that we'll get "complications".

They will probably offer GGG 10%, and hope he doesn't take it. Actually, I think it will be a better fight than most think, with GGG winning by late KO.

160 wouldn't be a problem if they were fighting at light-heavyweight, I presume!

canelo lost 2 rounds at best, ludacris to think khan was winning the fight

canelo will fight ggg, de la hoya is the opposite of haymon, de la hoya makes things happening and doesnt wait 10o years to make something.

ggg canelo will happen, ggg will beat him, but it wont affect canelos career in a bad sense, since hoys lost and still was a ppv mega star. losing is no problem, every top boxer loses at an certain point of time if he is willing to face anyone, like oscar did :OhYes:

If Canelo and ODH were ok with 160 then they really missed a golden opportunity last night to drive interest through the roof. They had asked GGG to come into the ring after the fight and they could have announced it to the world. But Canelo's responses were vague and we still don't know if the fight is going to happen.

All that we know from Canelo's repsonse is that Mexican's don't F around and he's not afraid of GGG and he'd fight him last night right there and then but at what weight Canelo? Have some pride. Take the fight.

160lbs, 10 % for GGG with a rematch clause and many other things in Canelo's favor. Even this would be a good scenario.

all said in the heat of the moment.

today there probably like why ever did we say that.

i rate canelo, good fighter, but he should fight ggg and he will definitey lose but it won't hurt his career terribly. be worse if he doesn't take the fight

It's Ludicrous - Ludacris is a rapper.

I reckon it will happen, but at 157-158, possibly even 160.

I don't see Canelo budging to 155, and I don't think he should. It's a huge fight, and I hope it happens this year, I hope it doesn't stall again.

I don't think Alvarez is scared, I think his team know it's a huge risk, but if he does lose, so what, GGG is the man, and almost everyone with any sense realises that.

I think Alvarez has a good enough chin to make it a good fight, but unfortunatelky, so does GGG, I think it will be a very good fight, and one that GGG wins down the stretch as he just starts to overwhelm Canelo with his greater firepower and subltely. Alvarez won't be easily dealt with though I don't think.

I also thought Lemiux looked excellent albeit against limited opposition , reckon it's worth those two rematching.

Yeah 160 is not a problem now. Wait till they start negotiating. Wouldn't shocked me the least bit to see GGG being offered tons of money to cut weight. Millions for each pound..

Yep. They are gonna make him some insulting offer he just cannot take and HBO well be behind it because they do not want Canelo to lose.

Then they go to a purse bid.

It was so stupid. Why in the world would Canelo invite GGG into the ring and NOT announce that he will take the fight? What's the reason for affording GGG that right if you aren't going to market the heck out of this thing.

correct, people are sick of past prime guys like kirk, angulo or welterweights. the big problem are casual fans, casual fans dont understand weight divisions and overall boxing. thats why casual fans dont push and demand more big fights, they dont get it. we experts, we know whats on, we get angry if sh&/t continues.

Apparently Oscar had to make a couple of business calls to Colombia first.
Oscars really entertained me the last week. Not nice seeing someone off the wagon but he seems to be enjoying himself.

As a fan of the sport, i'll be just fine if Canelo coughs up the belt and fights smaller guys instead. I'm also just fine with GGG defending his title AGAINST MIDDLEWEIGHTS 3 times a year until he retires and shatters every record possible. This catchweight jumping from division to division to determine greatness is not what boxing is about. GGG is a middleweight. The best 160 pounder i've ever seen and I'll watch every one of his glorious fights until he hangs em up. Don't care who he fights as long as it's the best 160 pounders every time out. That's all you can ask from a champion. He and Kovalev are the only ones doing it the way it should be done.

Probably he wanted to demonstrate that he is not afraid to be in the same ring with GGG  Of course, he needed to have a crowd between them just in case

He also offered Sanchez to touch his ballz. Maybe DLH is sharing his fishnet outfit with him.

Most DIDN'T have Khan winning the 1st 4 rounds.. NONE of the judges gave him 4 rounds.. I gave him 2.. many gave him 3.. Obviously Canelo took over in the 4th. And with the 4th, 5th, and a 2-point round going in the 6th.. Canelo was outpointing Khan at the finish any way you slice it - if somehow Khan could have regained his feet in good shape after the KO blow.. Canelo wasn't even trying very hard.. If he wanted to the could have done a Tyson-Spinks job on Khan.. He strung it out so it would look less like an Outrageous Cherry Pick.

Rematch close ? Why would Canelo want to get another stoppage loss on his record ?

If Murray & Stevens can go rounds with GGG. Canelo will be able to go 12 rounds

I saw the same thing. 2-2 going into the 5th and Canelo wasn't even trying. It was just to drag it out
