From start to end,we all knew khan couldn't handle the power & size of Alvarez,he should have rather took the Brook fight.

It was great business all round.

Khan got a nice boost to his bank balance & Alvarez got to fight another blown up light welter with name recognition at his favourite weight of 155lbs.

Khan lost a fight everyone said he would lose, got paid well and the Brook fight is still there for him.

Mismatch. GGG brings excitement to the middleweight division, Canelo and these idiotic mismatches on the other hand are bringing ill repute to the division. Where are the middlewight fights?

It was all about the pay cheque.

Since his defeat to Garcia Khan has been carefully matched. Going in with feather fisted guys like Alexander and Algieri. Only Collazo had any risk at all.

Then all of a sudden he jumps a weight to fight a monster puncher? Khan's a prize fighter who knew he was there to get knocked out for a few million.

May aswell i guess. Had he stepped up to fight Thurman he could have got ko'd for much less dollar and ended up with some very low stock.

Excellent for his bank manager & his hangers on; not so excellent for his long term health.

I don't really understand it from a financial perspective because from what I have read, that Con is one of the richest men in boxing. I read that he had upwards of 30 million in the bank. Maybe he figured that beating Con-elo was a shortcut to FMJ.

He's a prize fighter. They fight for prizes. Aka money. He couldn't get Pac or Floyd so he took the next best payday. And got lauded for having balls for doing so. No lose situation other than having a headache for a few days.

Well it wasn't like Khan got found out, Canelo just confirmed that Khan can't fight any power punchers.

In a era where the fighters look for excuses to avoid each other then Khan needs to be commended for showing the cojones to step up in weight against a fighter of Canelos stature.

If fighters concentrated on legacys as much as Khan then the sport would be in a better state.

Yeah absolutely Khan deserves respect in that regard but it's not hard for him to step up when he's game enough. I mean I had Canelo winning it weeks ago because I'm a fan of Canelo but I had a few doubts before the fight cos hey it's Amir Khan man, he's good it's just that jaw..

Khan made somewhere around 13 million for taking that fight, which was likely by far the biggest check he was ever going to get. With unavenged losses to Prescott, Peterson and Garcia his legacy wasn't going to improve much anyway. He made the right choice.

...I guess we've known all along what Khan is or ISN'T capable of...I don't think this loss has affected his "legacy", he lost as largely expected...you add 13 million dollars paycheck and tell me why he shouldn't have taken this fight...

Khan has been ducking Brook for YEARS... Lately he's also been ducking Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, and Errol Spence...

Those top Welterweights he's been avoiding would do the same thing that Canelo and Garcia did to Khan, only faster... Khan KNEW he was being CHERRY PICKED as an EASY KO VICTIM and he went for the easy money... YES, he took the fight for the money---and thought he could find a soft spot on the canvas to lay down after taking a medium body shot like Oscar De La Hoya did in his Bernard Hopkins fight... However Canelo is a heavier puncher than Hopkins. And Khan is a very poor boxer... Khan was behind on the scorecards after 5 rounds and Canelo made no effort to pin him to the ropes... Canelo's strategy was to box Khan for 6 rounds and then ratchet up the pressure, pin Khan to the ropes, batter him, and knock him out... but he was outboxing Khan, leading on the scorecards, and knocked the Pakistani out in the middle of the ring wen he made another amateurish mistake ... like he's made every time he been knocked out.

He didn't take a beat down. He took very few clean head shots. Most of the damage GingerHead was administering was to the body which setup the one and done.

Khan always said he wanted to retire at 30. Now he can take a light hitter later this year and cash out with Brook next year.

Khan can be annoying but he has always delivered good value. He has been good for boxing.

To the people talking about Khan's health, surely a quick knockout like he's suffered a few times is better than a sustained beating other fighters take.

It WASN'T EXCELLENT FOR THE FANS... The FANS wanted Khan to fight Brook, Thurman, Spence, or Porter who he will continue DUCKING... We wanted Canelo to fight GGG... What we GOT was 2 gigantic MISMATCHES instead... and Khan talking about how BRAVE he is because nobody expected him to take such a risky fight and he ONLY wants to fight the best.. ya da...ya da...ya da...ya da...ya da...ya da...ya da...ya da...ya da...

Good move IMO, fought a guy two weights up who everyone said would destroy him, got KO'd but boxed his ears off while it lasted. Got well paid, gained massive respect for taking the fight and him and Brook or any other top welter wi still be a big fight.

It certainly doesn't look healthy, but I cringed far more watching something like Murray-Rios or Klit-Briggs than I have watching any Khan stoppage.

I didn't see the fight, but am curious about their size on the night of the fight. Did Canelo look a lot bigger than Khan on fight night?

There is no reason. He always would've lost the big Mega Payday fight he's been dreaming of. Whether it was Floyd, Manny or Canelo the result would've been the same. Khan loses, makes big cash in the process.
