CANELO KHAN = SPEED VS POWER??? NO IT WASN'T

The overhyped Canelo-Khan fight was never going anywhere. It was hyped as Speed vs Power but it was Power versus Target. Canelo never really attacked the so-called superior boxer hard or even tried to put him on the ropes. He was content to box with Khan while controlling the ring. I think he knew he could easily out-box Khan and knock him out in the middle of the ring. Canelo was leading on the scorecards going into the 6th and last round. He was working the jab and other punches well. As Khan has done every time he gets knocked out, he made a rookie mistake and got smashed. So far he's faced 4 punchers and the result is 3 KO losses.
How big a puncher is Maidana? Not that big. Alexander and Kotelnik kicked his butt and Victor Ortiz decked him 3 times. He's more a swinger and a great absorber than he is a puncher. Marcos can mix, he's rugged, but he never seemed anxious to take on Matthysse, Garcia, Thurman, Brook, or other big punchers. Obviously neither did Khan.
