please vote based on who was the best at his best time, this thread has nothing to do with resume or who fought who, only quality of a boxer.

all this he fought him and him and who did he fought aside. who was the best at his peak.

He's one of the best natural talents I've ever seen with my own eyes. Floyd is probably the very best I've seen in his prime, but Roy Jones had more dazzling performances...against lesser fighters though.

It could easily be '65 Ali too.

I never saw Ray Robinson prior to the 1950's.

Jones' Performance against Toney, for me, is more impressive than anything Floyd has done.

Definitely one of the best. I don't know if we'll see another as a lot of Roy's highlights would be hard to match let alone beat.

Awesome
Is that amateur fight available. Must look on youtube..
What is sad about the above video is that Toney is such a pathetic figure going all over the world losing to guys who could tie his laces back in the day

In his prime he's probably the best I've saw in my lifetime. He was near untouchable for years. Fought some very good fighters and made it look effortless. The PED thing puts a massive shadow over his achievements though. That and the fact he seems hell bent on ruining his legacy by fighting on.

It's really hard to say. He was never as technically sound or smart as Hopkins and Mayweather, but was on another level athletically and in terms of reflexes. I tend to think that Floyd Mayweather was better overall.

If we're talking about boxers from previous generations, then Leonard and Robinson are definitely better than RJJ to me. Ultimately Roy's quality of oppositions holds him back in these comparisons, because it's impossible to know how we would have fared against other great light heavyweights. I tend to think he would have been stopped by the likes of Moore and Charles.

max kellermann saw a lot of jones and mayweather fights live, he says jones was better than floyd.

yeah, roy is realy destroying his legacy by continuing to fight, but that doesnt take away the factor who he was in the 90s.

stop with that nonsense with poor opposition. james toney and bernard hopkins are atg and roy beat bernard when bernard was entering his prime beating everybody before and after roy, than he schooled the than arguably #1 boxer p4p, who is technicly elite and roy made him look like a school boy, toney rarely touched, lost like every sinlge round.

why exactly is leonard better than roy, prime for prime? roy was more athletic and even faster than leonard, where is exactly does leonard make points in having in arguemant in who was better? chin goes to leonard. power they prety much equal, reflexes, no boxer ever had better reflexes than roy so that point goes clearly to roy. footwork, technic....

everbódy talking about roy not having technic, than i ask you:

what is technic?

i know what the result is of good technic and that is going into a fight and getting punched as rare as possible, than prime jones must be the best technician ever, cause when he was at his peak, even against top opponents like griffin, toney or hopkins, he very rarely got touched.
