Such a shame. I was looking forward to this fight, I think it would have been a good fight. I was such a big fan of Oscar DeLaHoya the fighter, too. I've given up.

Hasn't Canelo been wearing those stockings since signing to fight the chinny welter Khan ?

If this was their plan all along then they shouldn't have talked as much as they did after the Khan fight. Talking as much as they did, and then dropping the belt is about as embarrassing a bitch move as it gets.

get the feeling GGG cares more about titles/legacy than money which im sure he has enough of by now anyway, so just freeze alvarez out of the picture and take on saunders, jacobs and eubank then see how the land lies

Exactly. Why is Canelo so preoccupied with money. He has more than he can spend unless he is a gambler. This is some virus Floyd poisoned him with.

I would not be surprised if Oscar is taking a huge chunk and Canelo isn't as rich as most think.

Oscar would be taking a huge chunk, he wants to be taking huge chunks for a while longer aswell, that's why the belt has been thrown in the bin, it will be interesting to see the PPV numbers on chicenelos next fight

It's the OTHER WAY AROUND... Canelo and Oscar froze Golovkin out of the picture - just like everyone else did. I don't think Boxing is all about money, but it IS to some people. A Golovkin vs Canelo fight would break all box office records for a Middleweight Title Fight. GGG is the one getting screwed here... GGG didn't WANT Canelo to abandon the Lineal Title, but he's been chasing it for 6 years and this is the FIRST TIME the WBC has enforced their mandatory Challenger rule in several years at Middleweight. There was increased scrutiny on the WBC because of all the "exceptions" they've granted to Martinez, Cotto, and Canelo to fight guys like Chavez, Murray, Cotto, Geale, Canelo, and Khan. Golovkin had to fight some of those bums himself because he can't get the top Middleweights to fight him. So the excuse was GGG never fought anybody. So Cotto gets an exception from the WBC to fight Geale - a guy who Golovkin previously stopped in 3 rounds. Did Cotto fight Geale because he was impressed with his fistic prowess??? He fought him for the same reason Canelo fought Khan.
