EVENT POSTER

It's a hard one to predict... who's more proven? Kalenga no doubt... questionable loss to Lebedev
Image

and some VERY solid wins on his resume including Masternack and KO artist Daley.
Image

Kalenga is durable, fights at a high pace and has deceptive pop.
Image

I'd like to see Kalenga more active but like most top fighters from France, fighting twice a year is the norm.
Image

Dorticos works in compact straight punches combo from the boundary of the pocket and cumulates damage that way mixing to the head and body.
Image

So far he looks pretty solid and his patient style has got him 19 KOs in 20 fights (with the scalps of Mendoza, Fields, castillo and miranda).
Image

Image

He is a dirty fighter though... might get him in trouble at some point.

I remember the first time i saw Dorticos (and imo the first time he was on TV) was on the undercard of a telemundo card. They only showed Hls of his fight in the portion they used to do at the end of their broadcasts showing the most brutal moment of the night...
Image

I was right away intrigued and impressed at the shot landed...

Kalenga has been hurt in a few fights but never stopped. So it will be interesting to see if Dorticos' pop is elite... Galen Brown says it is... let's see How Kalenga reacts after getting hit flush because Dorticos has the better technique and pop... But never faced anything like Kalenga... a HUGE step up for him... and in France, should be hard to win on the cards... so i'd have Kalenga by decision as the most probable outcome. If Daley couldn't stop Kalenga, i'm just not sure Dorticos will.

Great preview, although I don't see how the loss to Lebedev was questionable.

Really looking forward to this :box: :bag:

I also thought Lebedev won but the cards were pretty close. I meant Kalenga was in the fight with the traded KDs and that he was in a close fight vs one of the top cruisers.

Yes, Lebedev clearly outboxed Kalenga, but Kalenga is one tough SOB.

Kalenga wins the first
Dorticos drops him in the second with uppercuts, Kalenga gets up and fights back hard

19-17 Dort

Good fight! Thew threw down in the 5th...Dorticos was looking a bit weary but ended the round strong by teeing off on Kalenga in a corner.

It's an excellent matchup as expected.

The early pop and better compact skills from Dorticos won him a few rounds... But after trying to get Kalenga out after the KD, Dorticos seems more and more hittable... less mobile... loss his sting... and Kalenga is stalking and getting to him with flush awkward bombs.

For those who are used to watch Kalenga... this is EXACTLY the type of fights he likes. Kalenga is like a trap in that he is so easy to hit. Dorticos had success but now ran out of stamina, pop and mobility... Kalenga is still grinding with his arm punches which cumulate damage. Kalenga could get the late stoppage by teeing off on Dorticos.

WOW. Amazing fight! Great win for Dorticos. This division probably has the best bunch of prospects - Usyk, Briedis, Dorticos, Gassiev, Makabu. Merhy, Cieslak and Hunter might be good prospects too. here are also two good champions Glovacki and Lebedev (I expect him to beat Ramirez tomorrow). Add here Marco Huck, Drozd (if he comes back) and you can see this division is probably the most interesting in whole boxing.

Great fight. I thought Dorticos had faded more than Kalenga but he turned it back on there in the 10th.

WBA crooks allow two jokers, Shumenov and Wright to fight for their regular belt, while Dorticos is way more deserving to have it.

Wright isn't as good as Dorticos I fought them both, there both solid but Dorticos is a beast for sure he is going to be a very tough fight for any Crusierweight out there
