As I understand it the cruiserweight title has gone vacant with Drozd being made champion in recess as he is injured and Bellew and Makaubu are boxing for the full world title.

Linares has been made Lightweight Champion in recess as he is injured but Marsili and Zlaticanin are only fighting for an Interim title is there any difference?

the only good thing to come out of all this mess is that boxers tend to raise their game when a world title is at stake, so while a lot of "world title" fights are actually not for THE title the boxers still fight as if it was which benefits us, the fans.

I went to a WBC ranking meeting once. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was a case of

"fighter A is now 5th"

Fighter A manager who's in attendance "He should be higher that Fighter B who's 4th"

"Any objection from Fighter B? (Who's manager isn't there).... no? Okay A to 4th B to 5th"
