Bellew v Maccarinelli

If Enzo comes through his European title bout against Dmytro Kucher on June 10th - and looks good in the process - what do you reckon about a fight between him & Bellew in the Autumn?

You can choose two options :D

Not sure Enzo will beat Kucher, but he's still an extremely dangerous opponent for anyone at the weight. Wouldn't mind seeing him face Bellew - Hearn could sell it as Enzo trying to regain Welsh pride after the 2nd Cleverly fight, or some such bollocks.

If Enzo claims the Euro belt it'll be a credible first defence

They could bill it as Bellew continuing his quest to defeat guys who Dmytro Kucher lost to; if TB gets through Enzo he could then defend against Bilal Laggoune just to be sure he's got the draw covered.

In seriousness, Enzo-Bellew wouldn't really excite me, and there are many better matches to be made, but I suppose if Enzo looks good against Kucher it would be an okay first defense.

No matter what you think of his ability, Enzo brings entertainment. His fights very rarely go the distance.

If this fight comes off the best outcome for Enzo is IJL is the ref.

If he hadnt make outrageous claims about been the best in the world I would give him a pass. But now I expect either unification or defense against top contenders like, Usyk, Dorticos or Briedis.

I think Macc is much better at light heavy but hope he takes whichever last few fights make him the most money. If that's Bellew then so be it.

:TU: And the guys who have have KO'd him have been fairly heavy handed

Think BigMac will struggle with Kucher. At 33, and having said he only wants big fights, Maccarinelli would be huge step backwards.

In his pomp I'd take Enzo all day. Long time ago now though and don't have too much enthusiasm for this one.

Can't see this one crossing the Sky BN divide.

Bellew isn't keeping this title for long I feel.

Absolutely. Although Enzo is such a hard hitter he can't be completely discounted.

Why not? Surely, it's a good opportunity to get Enzo out and paid without any risk. It's not like he's a ticket seller or headliner these days

Without a mandatory I can't see Matchroom or Queensberry agreeing on a fight. They haven't as of yet.
Only Eggington-Skeete but that was a mandatory.

Also after the Crolla-Flanagan talk got out of hand I see relations at a all time low.

Real shame though. Both fellas could make decent money out of it and it's hardly as if they are huge attractions for either promoter

I fancy Matchroom see Bellew as a headline act in Liverpool now.

I see a weak first defence top of the bill at the echo next.

Macarinelli should look for other work and focus on his young family, imho.
However, I wouldn’t for a second bet against him beating Bellew.
Prime for prime it wouldn’t have been close imo. Someone said that Bellew looked “clunky” on Sunday and Macarinelli is one of the most come forward, aggressive fighters in Britain of late.......which proved his Achilles heel, ultimately.

That is potentially a lovely fight.
Enzo has height and reach over Bellew, is never in a dull fight and seems to flip flop between a touch of vulnerability and being super tough.
What may also help sales to the plebs is that Enzo is a past Haye opponent.
I would be perfectly happy to see that match.

Be a good fight this....I'd like to see these two go at it, not sure what Enzo has left

Think it's a bobby dazzler of a matchup. Enzo's brittle, but hits harder than Bellew I'd say, could be a real up and downer, and almost a guaranteed KO finish.

Someone should make this fight, I'm not sure what Enzo brings to the table financially, but you could hype the shite out of it for sure.
