If Haye couldnt get down im sure as you say a catchweight fight. Not pointless though as the WBC could intorduce a new weight catagory, a weight inbetween cruiser and heavyweight, maybe super-cruisweight.

I always thought that it was odd that Cruiserweight was between Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight. You'd think it would be the other way around.

It's amazing isn't it? I just don't understand how or why it happens.

I think this fight is sadly nailed on to happen; Haye has somehow managed to pull off some bum of the month club string of fights.

I'm not saying Bellew is a bum, but he's got a very slim chance if they fight, as has everyone Haye is facing.

At this rate, Haye might abandon fighting for a title, he could probably set up a booth (not Adam) in oxford circus, and get people to pay him for twatting people off the street.

If the public demands it, Haye has no choice but to make the fight!
It's the biggest payday out there for Bellew and Eddie could make it a huge event.

A Catchweight would be Heavyweight

Wilder's team ruled Haye out as a replacement for Povetkin because they think he hasn't beaten anyone and needs to step up to get a chance, Haye isn't doing himself any favours with these type of fights.

There's no limit for heavyweight. You can fight for the heavyweight title weighing in at strawweight if you wished to.

So what if Bellew called him out, does that mean it's a worthy fight - of course it bloody well isn't.

I guess if people are thick enough to buy tickets to watch such tripe, they deserve what they get. It is not however providing any kind of long term boost for the sport, in fact, quite the contrary. People seem to believe that promoting mismatches and making a killing from it is good for the sport, but in truth it's about grabbing a payday from an ever diminishing pot of public interest. None of the people attending these shows, or at least very few will become long term fans. They are buying into brand Haye because they simply don't know any better, and believe what they are being told. However, when Haye retires again, another 10-20 million richer, they will be gone with him.

I'm gradually tiring of boxing, after having been a fan since I was 10, I now am reaching the conclusion that the sport is increasingly a joke. If Canelo v GGG and Ward v Golovkin don't happen by the end of next year, I think I might actually be done with boxing.

I've been watching UFC ever since I got BT sport, and I have to say I find it far better a use of my time. The matchups are better, the fights are generally more exciting, and I'm not paying 20 pounds a time to watch pathetic cards.

The average UFC card seems to have 10-12 fights on it, at least half of which are very competitive, not to mention slick production values.

Exactly. If the bout is over 200lb and one of the combatants weighs over that, it is a heavyweight fight and it makes no difference what Bellend weighs.

Take a look at the Pac v Margarito fight as a recent example of this. It was a Light Middleweight fight, but Pac weighed under the welter limit. Made no difference.
