Plus he's Cuban so he's probably gonna have a glass jaw and not be dedicated.
He's a proven drug cheat too tut tut...

he's very old at 37 in a sport wheres there they usually only have 2 fights a year. If you look at him he looks older tha 37 .. I wouldn't be surprised if he really is older.

Ive managed to watch a few fights of him now.. and my verdict is that he has very good power... but he's VERY VERY slow, and very old. I don't see why he's like this black hope dfor some on here.. when his career at the top level will be over soon. Its very rare and only really elite heavyweights can Box at the top level in their late 30s early 40s like the Klitschkos, Hopkins.. You have to be a bit special to be able to do that, and Ortiz isn't that guy.

He's not slow.. He just doesn't run.. He's smooth and technical.. When you punch he hits you back with a counter.. John David Jackson thought Ortiz was slow and matched Bryant Jennings against him because Jennings did okay versus Klitschko - and Jackson had the opportunity to work with Jennings for a few months after that fight.. Right away in the 1st round Jennings was in serious trouble like he never has been in his career.. Nobody ever hurt Jennings before or ever came close to putting him down.. When a guy falls on his face like Jennings did you stop it.. He's got no shot at winning, but a BIG shot at getting seriously hurt. JDJ didn't stop it.

There's no dog in Jennings... He was seriously trounced... NOBODY else wants any from LO.

They're busy.

He's just picked up the two best wins of his career, so how is he being avoided?

Golden Boy offered the fight to like 5 dudes before Thompson accepted. Sounds like avoidance to me. If you want to say the top guys haven't avoided him yet, then that is reasonable for now until they do so. Based on what the WBA has said either fury or klitscho are going to have to fight him in the not too distant future. Will be interesting to see what happens then.

Jennings was offered the fight on GGGs undercard in October too but said he'd only fight him for over $1m

He may be the best out there. Would love to see what Wilder and Joshua can do with him.

TS has to be no more than 12 yrs old.

With that said Ortiz is the best HW right now and lucky for him 37 is not old for the HWs of today hws have always been able to go longer unlike the lighter weight guys.

Ortiz beats every hw right now but watch how they'll duck the guy for a while.

FO you incredibly stupid and ignorant marshmallow brain. More than 2 people said the world was flat and that Obama was born in Kenya.

Ortiz is as fast as he needs to be. Parker and even Hughie Fury may be faster but that does not mean they would win. Foreman beat a lot of guys like Norton who had faster hands than him.

What I put in bold is quite a funny line I must say.

Ortiz is a mandatory so hopefully soon enough we can see how he does.

I've seen Ortiz a few times and he looks slow but he isn't. Some people will know what that means.

His speed and/or lack of upper body movement would be a liability against bigger elite fighters. Fury would box his ears off. Wlad, Wilder and AJ would touch him at range and get out the way. He does have fast hands and anything can happen in one punch at the heavyweight limit but I dont see him beating a top 5 guy.

Ortiz spent too long pissing about. It's his own fault he hasn't challenged sooner. He is 3/4 years behind where he should be

i wish he would have fought wilder about three years ago. that would have been an awesome match. but i doubt either one would do it.

Are you kidding??? Ortiz would fight Wilder in a heart beat... and he'd knock him out too... You know Haymon wouldn't let that fight happen... Ortiz is getting old though... These are waiting him out... I'd love to see Fury, Haye, Wilder, or Joshua fight him.

It is all about timing. I think Ortiz would time Fury, Wilder, Joshua, and they would be in big trouble.

I'm not as high as most people that have been blowing Ortiz over the last 12 months and handing him a belt somehow but I think that he's a good heavyweight that will give any of the top heavies a tough fight. And I would guarantee that Ortiz would absolutely flatten that sad excuse of a champion we have in Fury. I'm entirely sick of this guys act and his legion of goons calling him the best ever.

Joshua and Wilder are the class of the division. I'm not a Wilder fan but he's growing on me and seems to be improving in every fight.

He will be too old when he gets chance to fight any of the big names in the division. Probably over 40

I'll bet Ortiz regrets getting in the WBA tournament now. Ustinov will not fight him (my prediction). He was supposed to get the winner of fury/klit but doubt it will happen. They should put David Haye in place of Ustinov and get the tournament moving forward. Luis can't sit on the shelf waiting for opponents.

As far as getting to old and slow? He is just fine still, but needs to keep busy. Imo he is a top 5 heavy right now.
