I think he deserves to be now personally. Where would you have him???

Definitely not. He needs to be tested against likes of Gassiev, Usyk, Dorticos. Even Bellew is better than Lebedev's best win.

hes been world champ since 2012,and is now the proven number 1 at cruiserwight.. unified champion. He got robbed against Huck, Has two good wins against Kalenga and Ramirez, Regardless of how highly you rate Ramirez the way he completely destroyed him ( a guy with a very good chin) was hugely impressive. cruiserweight is such a strong division, surely the number 1 guy there should be in the top 10 or almost there

No, he is ways from a proven number one. Other top CWs have comparable or better wins. Until they start fighting each other, we won't know who #1 is.

He should at least be considered for the top 10 p4p list.

But it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is for a boxer who doesn't have an American promoter to get into the top 10 p4p.

Even in boxrec rankings which favor heavier divisions, Lebedev is #61. Even if we count his loss to Jones as NC, he would likely be outside of top 30. That reflects his resume. He wasn't so impressive against Kalenga who was later stopped by Dorticos.

He can't be far off.

He's the best cruiserweight in my opinion.

One more big win and he'd have to be a serious contender.
He's really improved the last few years.

Pound for Pound lists usually consist of a Top Ten, and obviously there are many different lists out there. I think you have your obvious choices from 1-7 or 8, and spots 9 and 10 are usually pretty subjective and open to wide variety of fighters. You can make an argument that Lebedev belongs in that 9 or 10 spot for sure. He's the best Cruiserweight in the world right now and doesn't get nearly the amount of credit that he deserves. He has several quality wins, especially his last win for unification. And let's not forget that he was robbed against Huck in Germany, and Huck at the time was considered the number one Crusierweight in the world.

Was Makabu more proven though?

I don't think so, but I can see him close to making a top 30 list. He's got some solid B level wins, with fair judging would've gotten an A level win against Huck (IMO he generally performed better than Glowacki did), and aside from that only lost to a documented cheater who needed drugs to make CW.

Beating his WBA mandatory, Shumenov, will not bump him up. I would value beating of his IBF mandatory, Gassiev, much higher. Beating another WBA "champion", Dorticos, would be very good.

I don't understand that. Dorticos has a good win over Kalenga but Gassiev hasn't really proven anything in my eyes aside from the fact he can punch at a certain level.

The definition of p4p. What ever that criteria is I'm not sure Lebedev would meet it. Just being the best cruser doesn't automatically qualify as p4p status.

A win over Dorticos at this time would be better than over Gassiev based on resumes, but my eye test tells me that Gassiev has a potential to become a top CW. He is already way better than Shumenov and better than Kalenga.

Its hard to say a guy better if he has never really been in a fight were someone challenged him. Just because he has offensive skills only account for part of the game.

No, but he's a very solid fighter and arguably the best Cruiserweight.

IBF ordered Lebedev vs Gassiev:

A huge test for the 22-year old. I think Lebedev will be seriously tested too.

I would rank him best cruiserweight because he is a unified champion. He could take the title of GKrzysztof Glowacki, and then Bellew, but I would rate him number 1 at the moment.

Good try but really who has he really beat to be considered p4p. In what capcity him or Lebedeev is p4p for again just because your #1 in a division. I don't believe he the best bantamweight in the world imo let alone be p4p. Not p4p resume or talent just because they made a lot defenses means nothing I pretty sure you would have name Uchiyama too right? Too bad you can't and didn't even lose to a guy who was top of the division just calling out names just to be different knowing these guys aren't P4P

Lebedev is not even dominating his division. Too early for top 10 p4p.

I'm not that impressed with Gassiev- I think he's a plodder with a decent punch but limited boxing ability. I think Lebedev would outbox him. I don't know what Gassiev's chin is like though so I don't know whether I'd pick Lebedev on points or late stoppage.
