Will there be another dimension of training for boxers?

like mike tyson said, back than we didnt had the vitamines, the nutrition, the training methods of today.
add to that new training equipmant, wear and most important the realisation of super compensation, the formula how to improve in training and the important combination of training and resting telaxing.
boxers, like all athletes evolved, how will it look like in 20 + years, are we at the climax right now or will there be new better training methods etc, experts say, they dont know so many things about elite level training and nutrition and that there is still lots to improve, i wounder how athletic, how good boxers will be in future. one thing is for sure, the technique hit it climax, i think techniquly it wont get any better the prime mayweather or prime whitacker, but athliscm, there is surely way to improve, who knows.

Yeah absolutely, a lot of new stuff out there now a lot of it specific to the individuals needs.
A lot of old training methods too that I've seen brought back and incorperated to some of the elite.

it is just freakish, think about it how athletic can a a boxer become, can they become even more athletic than jones, leonard or prime young judah. some would say no. but lets look at others sports, for example sprinting, michael johnson and maurice green, were super athletic freaks, not many thought about many sprinter much more athletic than those kind of guys, than cam bolt

and everything changed

That's the concern isn't it. While the honest athlete trains and trains, there's someone out there working equally as hard to come up with the best PED that's untraceable and safe.

That's the concern isn't it. While the honest athlete trains and trains, there's someone out there working equally as hard to come up with the best PED that's untraceable and safe.
Can you be certain that any of top athletes are "honest" ? Most likely, almost all of them are using some illegal means to improve performance, cut weight, etc.

I've never been a proponent of the speed bag. I don't know what it proves.
Fast paced walking on a treadmill may do just as good as running.
I've always been a fan for more conditioning training and less beating the hell out of each other in the gym.

Theres plenty of clean drug free athletes out there I'm absolutely certain of it.

Altitude training is used by athletes of various sports. But I haven't heard of many boxers using it. In a sport that is so cardio based that surprises me a bit.

Hard to imagine it getting worse than the all-time low it's at now. If they want advances they should study a century ago.

yeah totaly right. a lot of boxers suffered from to hard sparring, ali, brandon rios, a lot of brawler, nothing cool about it getting damaged during sparring and having speech problems at 35
flexibilty training, upper body movemant, footwork training, strenght and conditioning and a lot a lot of coordination exercises, weather punch coordination or footowork etc. and than there is high altitude running swimming, whatever gives you the extra energy for later rounds.

I think that we are already seeing the effects of the improvements we now have in training, conditioning and nutrition. It's a completely different process than it used to be and it's more scientific than it ever was. Think about it. Most of our top P4P boxers the last 5 years are over 33 years old. A boxers prime has improved by around 5 years i would say. Back in the day, boxers in their mid to late 20's were considered "in their prime". Now, you are seeing that 31-34 are prime years for many boxers. You have to credit that to advances in medicine, science and technology.
Right now, boxers are using the last week prior to the fight to lose the bulk of their weight through water loss. This is going on in MMA and Boxing. Nutritionists have found that weight loss has less of an effect on the athlete when weight is lost at once and replinished quickly as opposed to gradual weight loss through rigorous camps. Back in the day, half of camp was dedicated to making weight, not strategizing for the opponent. Now, weight loss only affects a couple of days prior to the fight so they have the whole camp to dedicate to strategy and improving.
Wlad (40), Floyd (39), GGG (34), Kovalev (33). You would never see an era of boxing with these kind of ages for top level stars. Especially when you consider guys like Hagler retired when he was 34. Oscar's last fight was when he was 35. Clearly a boxers shelf life has improved immensely in a short period of time. I didn't even get into PEDs which probably has had the biggest affect.
