Best punch Tyson landed/had landed on him in his prime?

What do you guys consider to be the best punch Tyson landed on somebody or had landed on him during his prime? We'll call his prime 1986-1991. I think the best punch he landed on somebody was the one he leveled Berbick with & knocked him down twice with the same punch. The best punch landed on him, aside from the one that Douglas landed to get the KO, was probably the huge uppercut Tucker blasted him with at the start of their fight.

Funny wise ass. You're another one of those old school bitches that doesn't give Tyson any credit at all. You can't give him props for anything and fail to recognize that he was the most ferocious and heartless heavyweight champion there ever was. All anybody wants to do is talk about these old timers like Marciano, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, etc... Sports are all about evolution and in every sport, athletes have gotten bigger, stronger, quicker, faster, and more aggressive. Boxing is no different. Talk all you want about how guys like Liston and Foreman would've been "too much" for Tyson to contend with or whatever but the simple fact of the matter is that Tyson would plaster their motherfucking brains all over the ring and would enjoy doing it.

Best punch he landed was the last one against Thomas ( if I recall correctly )
The best landed on him was the last chopping right from Lewis.
I also liked the combo from Douglas that had Tyson grabbing for his gumshield
In Tyson/Holy I there were two exchanges. A right, body, uppercut from Tyson that Gutteridge called " right out of Tyson's prime " and the barrage in the 10th from Holy
In terms of significant anti- tyson punches
Bruno I - the first time people saw Tyson really rocked by a shot ( props to him for taking it )
Holy I - first round. Tyson threw his usual opening bomb. Holy went to the ropes, came back and went " here's one for you" and, at that point, the fight was over

With respect mate I think that's a bit of a over-reaction, I'd say Tyson is probobly the most discussed heavyweight on this board.
As for punches, I think there was an uppercut that finished off Marvis Frazier that was pretty awesome

a strong gust of wind could have finished off Marvis

BUT, it was a great punch

In his prime, I'd say the best shot he took was either when Bonecrusher wobbled him with a right with 10 seconds to go in the 12th, or when Tucker knocked him backwards with an uppercut after 10 seconds of the 1st.
The best shot he landed was maybe the left hook counter that knocked out Reggie Gross, but I like the right cross that set up the Holmes annihilation.

your probobly right mate, when you whatch that fight I can't get over how much Marvis looks like his dad, right down to the same pattern shorts Joe used to wear.

Actually, no. I think the 86-89 version of Mikey was one of the most outstanding (and brutal) things seen in heavyweight boxing. It just so happens that I've grown tired of these discussions that are more welcomed in forums like boxingtime or ESB.
Moreover, marciano, Ali, Foreman discussions also tire me a bit.... I would much rather talk about other fighters of whom you wont find 60,000 hits in google.
Also, fighters who can "plaster motherfucking brains all over the ring and enjoy doing it" are just not my thing... I'm one of those fans that likes boxing and hates movies like Conan or Predator.
...welcome to the Forum

Sorry for the blow up, but I get pissed when people always discount Tyson's abilities for what he's done or said, especially AFTER his prime. Nobody ever brings up any other boxer's life outside the ring when they talk about Ali or anybody else. Nobody calls Ali a coward for ducking the draft, nobody calls Norton a womanizer, etc... All the talk about them is based on their abilities but with Tyson, people bring up stupid shit like that Robin Givens comment and it's just bullshit.

...At least IMT was good enough to choose the proper forum for discussing IMT.

The main reason y ppl talk, is because he is one of the most dramatic, devastating boxer of this era since Ali to make a impact on sports. If u ask someone who is not a boxing fan now do they know who Sonny Liston was, u might get minimum response. 20 yrs from now, u ask some non boxing critic who was Tyson, I guraantee u they will oblige u w/ a familiar comment. Skill wise, Tyson was a Great hw fighter, if it wasn't for his skills nobody would have watch or even cared who he was.

The right hand he decked Holmes with (1st KD) was a bit special.
And the uppercut he decked Douglas with was good too.
Douglas showed real heart getting up from that.
Tyson showed Heart in that fight too.

Tyson showed real heart in his fight with Lennox Lewis, who can hit a bit too.
From 86-89/90 I can't really think of anyone who would've beaten Mike Tyson. It's just such a shame that his personal problems overshadowed the fact that he was the most fearsome human being ever to step into a boxing ring, and I say that whilst thinking about Louis, Liston, Foreman etc. His handspeed and power and his ability to slip punches were just wonderful to watch. His head movement meant that you very rarely caught him (although he was caught with a good shot by Tony Tucker in 1987 unification bout)
It's nice to see him look relaxed these days. It's as if not having any money has actually brought him down to earth a bit. No idiotic hangers-on, just people who genuinly want to see him do well.
Do you think he can regain the title, or is that asking a bit too much?
IMT is right. we concentrate on the external negatives, instead of the action in the ring, which is what we are on this forum for in the first place.
However, with Tyson, it just can't be helped, I suppose.

Yeah....I'd like to talk about Jackie Wilson, fought out of Pittsburgh, briefly featherweight champion...lived near me before he died in the mid '60's...suffered obvious brain damage (if you heard him speak)...but who the hell even knows about him? :( They all know Marciano, Ali & Foreman though...

I agree, he looks very relaxed these days, even in the ring:

Mike never was a heartless boxer..... . Putting aside the infamous holy bite...he always was very respectful on the ring..... he never taunted anybody like Ali did. His most spectacular knock out.....hmmm...maybe against johnson (dont remember properly the name) in 1985. I recommend to see the reply at low speed!!!!! :)

Come on guys, there are so many Tyson bombs early on how could you pick just one?
The shot against Larry Holmes was great, but the bomb on Thomas too. Then you Marvis Frasier shot! OMG that hurt me. Of course the Berbick shot looks good because he was flopping around like a fish out of water.
The best shot I saw Tyson get hit with early was when Buster dropped him in his first loss. That was some serious shit! Since then Holyfield layed some leather.
I forgot to say, but Razor Ruddick hit him with the smash a few times. Credit to Tyson for taking it and finishing the Razor.

Best punches Tyson landed:
Henry Tillman - FORGOTTEN KO! Reason is hearing the commentators, when he was KOd, they sort of were silent as if nothing happened. Then Larry Merchant said "SURPRISE!" sarcastically. Everyone was so used to spectacular KOs by Tyson ad were expecting this. BTW, it was a single right hook to the temple.
Michael Jack Johnson - 39 second KO, Tyson dropped him with a left to the body, and when he got up shot a straight right to the chin and KOd him unconscious. It was a huge shot.
