Friday 10 June 2016
Palasport Bernardo Speca, San Benedetto del Tronto, Marche, Italy
commission: Federazione Pugilistica Italiana
promoter: Giulio Spagnoli (Round Zero SRL)
Andrea Manco 13 1 1
vs
Roberto Bassi 10 1 0
Middleweight
Italy middleweight title

Manco has the traditional Italian busy brawler on the inside style... And although he fights at a very high rate, he just wasn't able to truly earn a decent win in 3 opportunities... 1 draw, one TD loss and a DQ win (which was a loss but changed to a W because his opponent didn't pass the drug test).

Manco often in fights where fighters get cut because he likes to close the distance in D shell with his head down.
Bassi hasn't been tested as much. He has a loss early in his career by SD to experienced journeyman Nespro. He fought another journeyman in Roberto Cocco more recently who he beat by UD.
Bassi has a style that should make this matchup interesting. He likes to use his reach by fighting with straight attacks from distance and also likes to go backwards and bait in fighters.

His biggest flaw so far would be stamina problems vs high rate brawlers. When he fought Cocco he was exhausted after 7. He struggled to make it 10 and was almost stopped.

This is why i think this fight should be very interesting. It's a big test for Bassi and a very very good opportunity for Manco to earn a good win on the local scene.
