Frampton is my favourite fighter but I can't see him winning this. If LSC goes for it then he's playing in to Carl's hands but I'm sure he'll have a plan.

LSC will actually need to use those physical advantages in this fight. Use your reach. Against lesser foes you can just fight like a bull in a china shop. Against this sort of opponent you need to be smarter and use your physical skill set. Let's see if he's smart enough to do so.

Super difficult to pick, but I think Santa Cruz wins.

I think Cruz will bully Frampton to a clear decision

one thing I am concerned about is the location. Frampton will have more supporters in the building.

Come on. You're acting like this fight is across the pond in the UK. How many fans did Frampton have in Texas for his one fight in the states? 200?

The fights in New York. I figure that would make it pretty much a neutral playing field for both competitors.

This is a real interesting fight as this is definitely the best opponent Santa Cruz has ever faced, but Frampton has never fought a competitor with this much of a size advantage either. Very competitive matchup. I keep swaying back and forth between who I think will win. To be honest though a decision win for either guy wouldn't surprise me at all. I don't really expect a stoppage for anybody, but stranger things have happened.

UK to the NY is a much shorter trip than to TX. Who was the guy he fought in Texas again? No one significant, you probably can't recall without looking at his Boxrec profile. This is a much bigger fight and since then Frampton has become a bigger name by defeating Scott Quigg. Frampton's fan's will make their presence known. I hope Frampton wins.. I can't stand Cruz boxing style and feel he's one fight away from being exposed if he ever fights a A Lister.

Santa Cruz is going to wipe the floor with Frampton. LSC will have a 7" reach advantage and when you talk about that advantage coupled with his high workrate, Frampton is a large but live underdog. My money's on LSC unanimous decision or late KO as Frampton has appeared to tire late.

Frampton will have more fans in the building for this than his last fight in the US, that goes without saying.
But, although he will have a good following, I'm not sure a Northern Irishman could out sell a popular Mexican anywhere on the American continent.

I see Santa Cruz winning a near shutout.

I see him being too tall, big and strong at the weight.

I like Frampton even won some money from his last fight but he would have to go up a notch or two to win this one he might do it if he works every round and keeps busy if I have a punt on the fight I'd lean towards Santa Cruz by close but un dec in a competitive fight.

Yes i think we conversed along these lines when they mooted it in the aftermath of the Quigg fight.

My only slight qualifier there is that they were talking LSC right from the off there, I think they really value Frampton's 0 and would be loath to jeopardise it, so I assume at least that Team Frampton are pretty confident. One advantage Frampton definitely has over LSC is that his punches are.much more compact than LSC's nasty Margaritoesque arm-pumping. His feet are.also much better and quicker, but how he uses that to offset what will definitely be a big disparity in frame size and also IMO also a considerable one in in-ring weight/'natural size', I just can't see.

Maybe they know better than we do. I mean I wouldnt bet on it, but its not a huuuuge money fight for him is it (ie the risk-reward ratio isn't that great)? So, damn, they MUST be confident.

Though I still think its a weird match for them to have chased.

Santa Cruz is getting pounded at my book. Opened -150. All the way to -320 currently. I have a couple large parlays where that may end up as the last leg. I have LSC but if that line stays where it is or keeps moving toward Leo it'll give me a great hedge opportunity. Hopefully he keeps taking on action.

Not at his peak, but Mares' hasn't looked impressive for quite a while.

That's true. I'm picking Santa Cruz to win the fight though so....I mean it's not like I'm favoring Frampton in this fight.

You have Frampton more competitive in this one than I do Saad.

As per the fairly standard opinion it seems, I see LSC's size and output giving Frampton big problems.

I think Frampton has big problems if he cant hurt him, otherwise I see a cotto-Marg 1 type fight with Carl giving ground and landing cleanly bit wearing down

Though I said when it was made, framptons camp were very definite this was the one they wanted, so i have to assume they are confident, which gives me pause on my opinion a little bit.

Still, I definitely think Frampton has to get serious respect for his punching from LSC, and as he's never hit a featherweight I have to say that one I will believe it when I see it.

Sorry? I was questioning Frampton being better than Mares. In this fight Carl will have to be much more aggressive than he was against Quigg. Basically, he has to lure LSC into LSC's fight. That rarely works out well.

Damn I wish I would have seen that line when it was -150. That is ridiculous.

Is there a UK tv deal for this fight. Not heard anything yet.
