Maybe Aaron Russell, compensation for taking his Title so Watts & Green can fight for it, Pitt would take the fight, just depends if his broken hand will be mended fully to get a good enough preparation

Well he is better than the main event fighter he should be fighting Green but seriously Ammann or even a repmatch with Quinn though he hasn't fought since there fight and is on boxrec as fighting Thomas Heads on the 24th. Anyone on your list would be good.

Ticketek have promoted it for the Vacant Oz Cruiserweight Title, a mistake?

Flanagans last bout was at Heavy, is he dropping back to Cruiser?

Not for Oz cruiser title. Aaron Russell is current champ - won title last week. Watts relinquished. Green/Watts could be for one of 1000+ regionals

Not for Oz cruiser title. James Porter is current champ - won title last week. Watts relinquished. Green Watts could be for one of 1000+ regionals
Didn't Porter take a loss to Aaron Russell ?

here is Ticketek link that states OZ Title under Event Details

Bam Bam or Pitt on the undercard would outstage the Main Event, Is that what the Promoter would want? Fans could feel disappointed after the Main Event?

Presented by: Big Time Boxing

Four-time world boxing champion, and one of Australia's most iconic sportsmen Danny "The Green Machine" Green will take on fellow countryman and former Australian Cruiserweight Title Holder "Sugar" Kane Watts at Hisense Arena on August 3rd for the vacant Australian Cruiserweight Title.

Watts is ten years Green's junior and this is his 'World Title' shot, and it's a belt that Green is eager to secure for the first time, and one that the younger, and bigger, Watts is desperate to regain.

Exciting undercard with Australia's best up and coming to be announced shortly.

It appears Russell will relinquish, allowing Green/Watt to go ahead, on the condition the winner vacates so he can have another go at it. Whether ANBF accepts such arrangement, remains to be seen?

Everyone knows this bout for Danny has an ulterior motive. If an undercard fight outshone the main event who gives a shit. It happens on every ppv coming out of every country. I have followed this sport for a long time and I am sick and fornicating tired of the negative crap being heaped on it, much of it from this forum.

Fighting at Cruiserweight isn't the route to convince AM to sign a contract, DG should probably fighting at LHW, I'm guessing promoters are putting feelers out to see if the interest is still there. Anthony Mundine don't need the fight, he could fight Geale again, atleast Geales still on the world scene.
People would probably get behind the fight if it wasn't a blatant rip off, Casuals might pay 200 bucks for a seat to watch an exhibition fight but boxing enthusiasts expect a little bit more?

The fight is just another step closer to the rematch. It is intended as nothing more than some paid rounds for Green. Not sure why some people are finding that so hard to understand? The continual negative crap is just something a small minority resort to. But thankfully they usually end up getting banned.

So saying an undercard fight has the potential to outshine the Main Event is being negative? Ffs, that's general boxing talk which people go over on any other given fight night. I don't see people on here telling us how great this fight is going to be either, Wtf have a forum? why have a thread? If you can't discuss it, All people can add is its a lead up fight blah blah, It's hardly a lead up fight & not enough to get people interested. Mundine will probably not even show up at the fight

It is a leadup fight to the rematch, plain and simple.

The rematch terms have not only been discussed by the Green and Mundine camps, they have been documented. and according to Green agreed to in principal as well. Logically they will sigh off on them in the not too distant future. But not before the inevitable media beat up to sell the fight.

Vargas-Miura on the Cotto-Canelo undercard outshone the Main Event but this is a lot different. Still to each there own but the negativity is warranted IMO.

The main event is Green vs Watts. We know that and it is what most people will go to see.

But the better the undercard is the better for those attending and watching. It is impossible to see a negative in getting the best undercard they can possibly assemble.

Bogan you talk like the fight is already signed & done, I'll have faith in Mundine that he may possibly take the Geale IBO fight if Geale allows it to happen. If Renold happens to somehow defeat Geale, Mundine wouldn't hesitate in fighting RQ & giving him the exposure & a payday before an exhibition fight with DG

The big money is in Mundine vs Green II. Everybody knows that. That's why it will happen.

Not saying it won't happen, it probably will end up happening eventually, Team Mundine will use Green as a marketing tool even if they can make legitimate fight against an international. The purse Green is asking for, Team Mundine could get a very decent international fighter instead, How well Mundine recovers from his operation may determine his next move

Mundine and Green both use each other as marking tools. There are still a few boxes to tick before the rematch is signed. One of them being how Mundine's hip comes up. But the fight will happen inside 12 months and perhaps as soon as 6.

Mundine has been flirting with the notion of appearing for St.George in the NRL's Auckland Nines tournament in February 2017.

If this eventuates, all it will be is just a token appearance, so not to get injured, plus an opportunity to drum up a bit of publicity for the mooted bout.

TBA is going to be busy. PBC and Al Haymon look out a stellar card from GMP coming up at only $50.
