Tough fight for Campbell?

Good fight for Campbell and his best opponent to date.
Got a feeling Mendez has just started lacking ambition though and is developing a journeyman attitude.
Campbell on points for me.

Very tough fight fair play to Campbell

Journeymen he lost his last fight to a guy who is touted to be the next big thing. Fight before he beat vasquez this is brave matching. Who is training mendes now? Im guessing its not Lee Beard. Only reason i lean towards Campbell is Mendes is more of a super feather. I think campbell belongs at light welter

Yeah good fight for Campbell and near as good the Mandy rematch,Mendez got blitzed early from Barthelemy although he's usually durable and that result was changed to a NC after it was deemed the punch came after the bell

Still i wouldnt be surprised to see Luke take him out early with the bigger weight

Journeyman is a bit harsh but in reality the guy could easily have gone 1-5 in his last 6 (with losses to Usmanee, Barthelemy-twice, Vazquez and Easter), he's had his rub of luck in regards to the judging...

Ya, it seems to me like they've got Mendez at the right time.

cant recall Mendez but looking at his record only lost to good fighters, luke needs a good win on his record and start fighting solid fighters

I quite like this fight. Best opponent (Mendy aside) to date. If he can pick up a good win coupled with a good performance here I'd like to see him fight Cardle for the British then try and avenge the Mendy loss in December if possible. That would set him up for a promising 2017. He's 29 this year so I'd like to see him moved on a bit quicker.

Yeah I agree.

Solid fight this and should he get through, hopefully looking good in the process, I would like to see him back in with Mendy to re-write the wrong. I think he would wipe the floor with Cardle to be honest, depends on what he wants to do... hang around for the British or look to fast track himself to bigger things, as you mention he is 29 now so he needs to make moves.

Sensible matchmaking - but after the Sykes comeback, I hope Campbell facing former super-feathers is not going to become a habit. Mendez could probably still make super-feather, and in some of his super-feather eliminators and title fights was nearer the 126 limit than 130 (127-odd in Salgado I, same in Honorio II) - he was also well under 130 on other occasions (e.g 128-odd in Barthelemy I). Hardly someone who looked tight at 130.

I see. Davies could've probably had just went straight for the British since fast Eddie was doing deals. Maybe Davies vs Cardle later in the year then? Maybe Campbell will just skip going for the British title.
