I'll watch these tomorrow,i take it the 1st two Brown/Charnley fights arent available Horse?? I did have a look but couldnt see them

Jeez the Hughes fight didnt last long,Charnley just steamrolled him and knocked him out cold in about 20 seconnds,lol at the ref counting Darkie out when he's unconcious

I gave Charnley every round in the Brown fight,the 1st few rounds were close but i liked Dave's workrate and aggression,the end seemed to come from nowhere and maybe Joe could've continued or maybe the punch he took when down suckered him

I had originally suggested the second fight, the 1961 Ring magazine fight of the year.

Still the opportunity to see a proper ATG lightweight being defeated by a UK fighter.

Charnley vs Brown

10-9 - Decent start from Charnley, looks comfortably quicker to the punch than his older rival. Lands a few good right hook leads and gets a couple lefts in in the second half of the round
9-10 - Brown judged the distance better, made Charnley miss and got in with a few nice rights.
9-10 - Brown again good use of distance, moves straight back to nullify Charnleys attacks and closes the distance well to land one twos then ties Charnley up
10-9 - clearly Charnleys round, caught up with Brown and worked well in inside exchanges. Browns only success was the odd stiff jab
10-9 - better round, Charley wins this one too
KO - Didn't seem much of a punch that put him down and a pretty poor finish for Charnley to hit him like that.
Also thought the count was a tad on the quick side.

Not a classic and not a great deal to talk about.

Shame we couldn't have got the 61 FOTY or Charnleys fight with a young Carlos Ortiz

Not a great fight, but unfortunately the 3rd Brown fight and the 30 seconds destruction of Hughes are the only fights I could find for Charnley.
