A Golovkin fight is the only one worth 9 figures to see Floyd return.

Floyd would SHOOT HIMSELF through the head before he'd fight Golovkin... He would get murdered.
Floyd would not fight GGG... Brook... Spence... Thurman... or Porter --- under ANY circumstances...
That's what the Andre Berto fight was all about.

At any weight GGG was comfortable at he would hospitalize Floyd.

Admin changed the title of my post and twisted the tone of the point I was trying to make. But either way if he wants to get paid he would have to earn it and earn it big. Golovkin is probably the only PPV worthy opponent for Floyd and it would be great for his legacy if he signed it let alone beat GGG in front of the entire world.

They needed to change it.... You're creating a false impression Floyd has the courage to do this fight... He wouldn't have the guts in a million years

I don't agree with your comments regarding Mayweathers "courage" and "guts". Has he not proved himself in the ring? If the money and timing is right I believe Mayweather would strongly consider this fight. I think he has tremendous confidence in his own abilities and truly believes hes the GOAT. He has also specifically responded to comments regarding GGG which I'm sure your aware of. There is a chance he could take this fight.
So I don't think Mayweather lacks the courage to fight Golovkin, I think he lacks the ability at this stage of his career IMO. GGG is a tremendous fighter, my favourite currently. Floyd is old in boxing years and has slowed down. His last performance was the worst I had seen against Berto.
On the other hand, Mayweather could surprise us, rise another level and go on and outbox him, he would have to work hard (their would be no knockdown come on). The result is an unknown and that is a draw-card. Their are factors several factors that make this fight a draw-card. I've heard GGG is the most popular boxer in USA, recently, things have changed since the Lemieux ppv numbers. Could GGG knock out Floyd, ending his career for good? Could Mayweather outbox the most dangerous man in boxing today? People who like Mayweather, people who don't. People who like GGG, people who don't, you assume would be watching.
When you talk about courage and guts, what are you actually talking about? Is it more about risking a loss on the record, an ego thing? Or is it about being hurt and knocked out in the ring that apparently he fears?

Look... the result is KNOWN... Mayweather would be cornered and crushed... He'd be smashed unconscious... Floyd isn't stupid.
Why do you think Floyd fought Andre Berto??? ... Berto lost 3 of his previous 6 fights while getting knocked down 6 times... Floyd is a Welterweight.. he doesn't HAVE to move up in weight to fight a killer like Golovkin -- but there were 2 UNDEFEATED World Welterweight Champions who Floyd COULD have fought in World Welterweight Title Unification Fights... Those 2 fighters were: Kell Brook... and Keith Thurman.
Floyd was too cowardly to fight them.

Floyd took an easy fight with Berto. It was the worst performance from him I have seen. Terrible fight. He knows he took and easy fight, his dad knows and said it before the fight. Mayweather had just come from the biggest fight in boxing, regardless of the quality of that fight, it was the biggest fight, the pressure must have been enormous. He was criticized relentlessly by the media and I by assume people like you after the fight. He just got the biggest pay day of his life. He's a risk conscious person and risk conscious fighter. He wanted an easy fight and I say fair enough but fair enough that I didn't buy it and it didn't do well ppv.He was in contract. Fighters in the past do this. One hard fight, one easier fight. Sugar Ray Leonard did it for example. It's not cowardice, it's business.

Floyd will not take this fight. Not unless Golovkin shows some glaring vulnerability in an upcoming bout. Floyd didn't want it when he was active and younger, he certainly doesn't think his chancez are improving. Very few people think Floyd should fight GGG. It is the single fight in which they believe he could be outmatched. He is not ducking GGG, they are a legitimate 15 pounds apart and it's not fair to expect him to fight a top lb 4 lb guy who is two weight divisions heavier than him. It speaks to Floyds greatness that he is even expected to take on such a challenge. I think this is just too much for him to overcome. But Mayweather is an all time great, I certainly wouldn't rule him out if it happened. But he wouldn't risk his legacy on such a dangerous middleweight.

This is a respectable answer and estimation. I just can't help but cringe when certain people call successful professional fighters and people in general whom they do not know, cowards.

That's idiotic. Less than 0% chance that Mayweather fights Golovkin. This is really a dumb theory. Why would Mayweather want to get his first loss instead of his 50th win?

It just seems odd that this fight is beyond the imagination of fight fans for Floyd. I mean if he thinks he is the best ever but hasn't attempted what his recent predecessors have then how great can he actually be? Recent fighters like Trinidad and De La Hoya, just saying, all started at and starred at lower weights, had a prominent stay at WW, became high grossing fighters at the gate/ppv, became popular, were highly skilled and well accomplished fighters before they challenged the beast at 160.
If that cat thinks he's going to, as talented as the man is, get PAID after his last couple of performances then this fight is the only worth my money.
Not Garcia or Porter or Thurman or Canelo or Pac but then again there is Brook. That would be good too. Brook vs Money. Now that I think about it Vargas might get a win vs. Brook...and there you might get Floyd vs Vargas next May on PPV...
So yeah if I am going to pay for another Floyd PPV it has to be worth it...at this stage of his career anyway. He has lost some shine, imo...

This is about as likely as Floyd facing Tyson Fury / Wlad winner.

True. It is also about as likely as someone like GGG or any of the top guys fighting someone in their prime at their walking around weight. (excluding heavys) Floyd and Pac are the only two I can think of that have done that in the last 30+ years. Imagine Canelo fighting at light heavy for example when he is 40 years old? Pick any top fighter you can think of, and put them at 40 years old, and ask them to not only fight another top pfp guy at their walking around weight, but ask them to go even above that. Stupid to even think about, but many want Floyd to lose so bad it will be talked about for a few more years.
Floyd would be foolish to come back and fight anyone at his age, considering what he has accomplished, and especially considering how he is set for money.

I agree, Floyd would be bad to take on GGG, he's too small and too old.
A fight like this might have been interesting 4-5 years ago - but Floyd's never going to be able to winkle out a win at his age against a naturally bigger man, with the skills GGG has.
In fact, I don't believe Floyd could have pulled off the win at any stage, he's not big enough. Leonard managed it against Hagler, but he was a bigger man than Floyd and a bigger puncher too.

Floyd will only return to fight Manny; if he makes half of what he made from the first fight he has still done well. There a lot of casual fans out there who would gladly buy the PPV. Plus there was the whole shoulder thing with Manny after the fight leading me believe that he was hoping for a second fight and Manny would jump at the chance to fight Floyd again given how much he made.

Floyd V Gennady is the only viable match to be made for the retired superstar. Manny Pac, yes..sure they could but..it will be tinged on account of their first meeting. Manny Pac injury..besides that. Look how long it takes to make boxing's true Fight of the Centrury. What? Few months, snap..it's made. And...there you are talking at Heavyweight.
How long, honestly..did negotiations go on for with Pac-May? Five years? Shoot....if they wrote a book about the negotiations it would be more exciting than their actual match.
The fight was big Big big time stale from the get-go.
Their is forgiveness in a rematch? Maybe so. Yet..IF May agreed to meet Tripple-G it will have about 10X the repercussions world-wide.
How much is the fight worth to each side?
What do May make for Pac?
You well know that even at it's cheapest, May making not less than 90 m. and likely he wants 100 m and likely he dreams 200 m and likely he dreams 250 m. But..this is reality.
What sort of purse will GGG demand? He "dreams" big money like this! You know he needs to make 50 m-$ for it to be viable. 49 m-$ you could do it with him.
Result? We all know than May is SURE he will win before even stepping in. GGG on the other hand is much less the boaster. He's gonna say, "this is boxing", I'm "Very Happy..." to be given this chance. It's only a chance. And, probably he puts his fingers up and measures two inches. EVERYONE KNOWS HOW HE IS, BY NOW!
So..No one can predict the outcome. Maybe May will win. Or maybe he gets beat-up dropped, stopped. That weight is *miracle!
If May came thru and takes WIN..no mater how it comes down other than more than obvious highway robbery..... No body can take it away he can walk away with complete Peace and never be bothered with another challenge, ever again. The only thing that would be left for him would be Deontay Wilder's WBC HA HA....
What if Floyd takes a LOSS? If he goes the distance their is little-bit redemption. (It's a softer landing). What if he is cleanly KO'd? Let's say the danger area lies in rounds 8, 9. How will this effect the Floyd Mayweather psyche?
If he does lose he has NO CHOICE but to accept it. Still and yet he was a mega star who..who ultimately crashed hard. Just like Joe Louis (though, these two men much different personalities, of course. &..May, seem to me, maturing..) Just like so many. Each with their own tone, too!
It is a complicated/ strong step to take. Does Floyd May actually want Tripple-G.
Seems the challenge has always been there. Past Welterweight champs Henry Armstrong, Jose Napoles, Marlon Starling, Sugar Ray Leonard, Sugar Ray Robinson have stepped-up.
Success not guaranteed though the "money" will be.
And, I think that at Mayweather's point in life now, he doesn't need the $$. But, only he understands his own finance. I don't even know why he would need it!
Floyd, if you do take such challenge please let one million go to a past boxing dignitary I will pick out. Money drastically changed in boxing of course. I'll pick out one, someone, distinguished.
And, you should in no way accept Gennady's "Ibo" as any part of this package. "Good luck!"

He cant beat Ggg now. He is frigging 40 with 20 years of professional boxing on his frigging odometer. Floyd can see and feel he is not the level he was 10 years ago. Besides that Floyd is about making the most $$$ and being smart, fighting Ggg Contradicts what Floyd is about :)

Trinidad and De La Hoya lost. Mayweather is not on the same career plan as Trinidad and De La Hoya. He always has and always will take the necessary precautions to stay undefeated. If you want to predict what Mayweather is going to do in a hypothetical 50th fight, use his first 49 fights as a historical indicator. His most recent opponent was Andre Berto, and it was way more competitive than it rightfully should have been. He's even older and more inactive this time around. His 50th opponent would likely be someone else similar to Berto, like Khan. He's not going to fight Golovkin, Lara, the Charlos, or Andrade. I doubt he would even take as big of a risk as Vanes Martirosyan. It wouldn't be unthinkable that he would be willing to fight Thurman, who isn't actually that great, as it turns out. Thurman offers quite a better risk-reward ratio than Brook or Porter. Mayweather could also still probably school Timothy Bradley, given that Mayweather has long reach for a welterweight, and Bradley has the reach of a baby.

Yeah. I agree it isn't fair really. But..what has Floyd said about GGG if he was to match him? I think...he may of been loose..with some things he said. That makes him vulnerable.

If Floyd comes back for a fight in 2016 the only opponent who fits the Floyd mantra of opponent is Danny Garcia.
Discussions between the camps were held earlier in the year. Stumbling blocks tend to be PPV dates. Next possible date would be November.

How?
I keep hearing how Golovkin isn't a big name & can't generate numbers, so how does he do it against Mayweather?
Surely, the only guy who Mayweather can come back against & generate those telephone number-like figures is Alvarez?
