He should retire. He is going to end up with dementia pugilistica if he continues. In fact he already may end up with it because of the punishment he has already taken.

He stopped being a worthy challenger for Champions when he lost decisively to a guy who wasn't previously in the Top 15. Provodnikov is one of my favorite fighters, but there's nothing left for him to stick around for in Boxing. The Matthysse fight took something out of him he's never getting back.

Perhaps Arum will match him with Jose Benavidez soon.

He needs a new trainer. Provodnikov has fantastic natural gifts. How many fighters could face a guy that p4p hits as hard as Matthysse, and just walk right through it? Provodnikov is an absolute beast. He just can't box and is easy for top level guys to stick and move. I think Provodnikov has the scope to add a lot to his game... or did have i guess, since he's 32 now.

Provo is not planning to fight in 2016. He is probably as popular in his region of Siberia as Pac in Philippines, so he may decide to get into politics as well. He will only come back for a big fight.

Thankfully his people are doing the right thing by having him take a nice long rest.
Hopefully, they'll stick to it & not schedule any more fights for him until well into 2017. After which they'll have to see where he's at mentally, emotionally & physically. And, as Ricky suggested, a new trainer might be in order should he decide to continue his career in the ring.
Not that any new trainer could really change him too much. He'll always be a walk in banger. But, perhaps a new trainer could motivate him more & get him to fight more effectively without taking quite so much unnecessary punishment.
Also, Bob Arum's matchmakers should take care with who they match him up with, because putting him in with anyone with a good jab & some movement is going to trouble & likely, beat him.

He should probably call it a day now after the Molina defeat, his chin is too good for his own good.

What's next for John Molina? I love the way he keeps coming back.

Rematch with Matthysse? Challenge to Ricky Burns? Or Troyanovsky?

He needs to have one last payday against a bum and invest his money wisely. Unless something drastic changes in the way his promothers and trainers direct his career and hone his skills (doubtful at 32) he is absolutely finished at top tier competition. At this point he's barely even a joureyman, everyone knows how to beat him so there isn't even the drama of a possible slugfest or punchers chance anymore.
