Curious to get a good conversation going.....

Would you like to have the £$$ of a promoter and all those headaches? Like them or loath them, they do work hard and must have a challenging role?

Would you like to be a trainer, struggle with making ends meet some days then your next world champ walks through the door meaning you get paid some decent purses for a few fights until they leave you?

Perhaps a cuts man, not too involved to worry about the politics but still well inside the boxing world to know what goes on?

So what job would you like to do which involved being within the boxing world apart from being a fighter?

(For the recrod, Michael Buffer has my dream job)

Mike Goodall's job. Set the ring up then sit ringside for the night before taking the ring down.

I'd be quite keen to do something like what Kugan from iFLTV does, he's well involved in the British scene and gets access to 95% of what goes on. Apart from the amount of travelling he must do, he's got it pretty good I think.

That gobshite Buffer had the best job in boxing. Paid a fortune and flew around the world and only has to work a couple of fights then sits on his wrinkly arse. Constantly gets it wrong but it doesn't matter because he's Michael Buffer! I'm sick of the wank

I think I'd enjoy being a judge. Although I'm not corrupt or incompetent, so I probably don't have a chance at being successful.

I'd like to be a trainer, can be a very rewarding job, I think judging would be alright as well

I did that for a couple of shows in the 80's, get to the place for about 4pm, hard work carting it all in and setting it up. Sit and watch the entire show hoping nothing goes wrong and as soon as the last bout is finished get the ring down and packed away as soon as you can.

Hard work but worthwhile for being so close to the action.

Judge for me as well.

Ringside views, not having to deal with all the administrative garbage, and even if I screw up I won't be held accountable for it!

Ref, promoter, Commentator, trainer, hanger-on. IFltv looks fun to do

I love my job (ring announcer) doesn't matter if it's 16,000 at the O2 or 300 at the Cleland Miners social club it's a great buzz playing a part in the action. Plus you get to meet people you would ordinarily never get close to.

Buffer's a cool guy to be around and not at all precious, IMO the only ring announcer who will ever be a celebrity, thanks in a big part to the phrase. Even non boxing fans know who he is

Work outs, press conferences, weigh ins, fight nights, there he is, setting up the ring, stage, backdrop, PA system etc. Always first to arrive, last to leave then in the van & off to the next one. Drives everywhere, even down to Monaco on occasion.
