WHERE THE BEST FIGHT THE BEST - BEGINNING IN WEEK 35
THE VOTE IS NOW ACTIVE!!! - I HAVE SENT PRIVATE MESSAGES TO ALL NINE OF YOU
Each Manager HAS 5 VOTES.
You CAN vote for your own fighters if you so wish.
NOTE: Evander Holyfield has already qualified by virtue of his victory in the Million Dollar Tournament, as such he has been excluded from the below list.
I have divided the fighters back in to their original weight classes and put them in alphabetical order (by their surnames). I have also taken out the name of each Manager to try and encourage Managers to be more analytical in their thinking and to detach personalities' from the decision-making process.
But Managers can vote any way they so choose. They are only asked to make their 5 picks once and not to edit their posts.
This topic will be locked seven days from today.
Below the marked line will be the scoreboard which I ask my fellow Commishs' to help me keep updated.
Fighters will enter the scoreboard after they receive their 1st vote.
Carlos Deleon (CRW)
Juan Carlos Gomez (CRW)
Marco Huck (CRW)

Okay, I'll kick this one off. Here's my thought-process
Because we have 2 weight classes in this season, for the interests of polarity I would like to see the best 3 Cruiserweights along with best 3 Super Middleweights, but that's only my choice.
With Holyfield already qualifying, I would put Juan Carlos Gomez & Vassily Jirov in there with him. To my mind, they are the only other Crusiers capable of giving him a run for his money in our great finale tournament.
As for my 3 Super Middles, I'd definitely have to go with Joe Calzaghe & Roy Jones Jr, for me they have been the two outstanding Super Middles of this season and have stayed competitive even after our great merger.
My 3rd pick is a bit of a tricky one, but I'm going to give it to Andre Ward - because of his extraordinary run to the MDT final and the incredible fight he put up against Holyfield. I'd like to give Andre the chance to see if he can replicate that great form in The Super Six.
And that's my say on the matter, 9 Managers left to vote....

Joe Calzaghe and Roy Jones Jr seem like shoo-ins to me. After that, though if memory serves (he isn't on the fighter records page) he has been managed a little conservatively, Juan Carlos Gomez has been up around the top of the table all season. My fighter Andre Ward I feel has the next best collection of wins (RJJ, Toney, Jirov, Hearns, Eubank etc) and has the MDT Final performance to justify qualifying him.
Last place is hard - a case can be made for a few guys: DeLeon, Jirov, Liles and others, and I was very close to giving my vote to SRL who has had a good and consistent season. However, I've decided beating Joe Calzaghe twice and having a mostly good season is just about enough to get Carl Froch the nod.

I'll put in a vote for Jones, Calzaghe, and Gomez right off the bat.
I have to do some debating on the other 2 fighters. Have it narrowed down to 4, but have to do some record checking, etc...

Mr Kevo shows great dignity in not selecting his own fighter (RJJ) and selecting his top rivals - Calzaghe & Gomez.
His votes have been counted up on the scoreboard.
4 Managers left to speak up!!!

If Calzaghe is a shoe in for the Super 6 with 6 votes, and Jirov is tied with the bottom of the field at 2 votes somebody has to surely see Froch's rightful place in this Tournament.
He's 3-1 against Calzaghe and Jirov respectively.

A good bit of shameless campaigning there from Mr Gilgamesh.

My management style is in the vein of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. If I wasn't shilling for my guys at every opportunity I'd be doing a disservice to the great Mr. Heenan
Also every Draw or Split Decision that ever went against either of my fighters was a robbery

I've already had my say, so this post won't directly count for much.
I am finding it fascinating that Carlos DeLeon & Ray Leonard are vying for contention, considering that neither man won a World Championship this season.
Yet, both of them were Prizefighter Series Winners. Maybe this will add even more prestige to the 3-rounder tourneys.
Still it's interesting that they are being voted for ahead of others who have suceeded in being World Champs.

Also Leonard twice failed to defeat Froch....FACT!

Seems a bit sly voting for your own fighter IMO
(hopefully RJJ will be ok without my vote

If I wouldn't have voted for my fighter, I wouldn't have been being factual.
2 wins over Tommy Hearns (Hearns beat Leonard by the way, Froch beat Hearns twice)
A TKO win over Vassily Jirov (who has received 2 votes here)
2 out of 3 over Joe Calzaghe (a shoe in for the Tournament)
A Former IBF Champion (2 Title defenses)
A Million Dollar Tournament Semi Finalist
I could go on and on.
A win over Chris Eubank (a fighter who recently beat Andre Ward...another shoe in for the Tournament)
And Froch is about to beat Johnny Nelson in Week 34!!!

Also the fans deserve an opportunity to see such great fights as Roy Jones Jr. and Andre Ward vs Carl Froch for the first time this season.
Froch vs Gomez and Holyfield weren't boring the first time around neither, and everyone knows of the bitterness between Froch and Calzaghe.
Fights of great interest all around if Froch gets into this Tournament. So...for the Sim fans. Do the right thing!

I wouldn't think so.
Johno is preparing well in his upcoming bout with The Cobra.
He is going to use hid jab to control the distance of the fight & come away with a unanimous points decision.
Thus, depriving Froch of his coveted Super Six place & proving that his cause should have been taken much more seriously.

These are the worthy ones: And reflect our vote.
2 Jones Jr Roy United States SuperMiddleweight 2097.8
3 Calzaghe Joe Wales SuperMiddleweight 2048.3
4 Gomez Juan Carlos Cuba Cruiserweight 1958.0
5 Liles Frankie United States SuperMiddleweight 1788.7
6 Leonard Ray United States SuperMiddleweight 1775.5
The election is obviously rigged.
If Holyfield can not be voted for.....then my votes will go as clearly listed above.
Why? Because there is no politics in math. Anyway you slice it, GoldenBuzz Promotions has pulled a miracle out of the bag again...despite everything being rigged against us.
The story is long and sordid, and is dripping in drama and political intrigue. Just read the history of this season.....and smell the coffee.
1. GoldenBuzz Promotions originally had first draft status...... and what happened?
2. Whilst on vacation out of the country...the fix was in.....and we were thrown into the dumpster by the "elite".
3. What draft status did we finally inherit? Do you need to guess? Yes....Dead last......dumpster drippings is all anyone thought we had to pick from.
4. Why? Because they want to keep the workin' man down. The rich and powerful ran away with the rule book. It's rigged I tell ya!
5. GoldenBuzz Promotions took this as a badge of honor and declared to the sim world....YOU CAN'T KEEP THE WORKIN MAN DOWN!
6. We closed our eyes, picked two fighters, and OUILA! We are once again in the top five...despite the dead last draft pick.
WHY? Management....that's why....good old fashioned working man's labor and toil and commitment to excellence. NO COMPROMISING.
Another miracle performed by the best sim management team to walk the face of the earth. Liles .....top five....often higher, and highly ranked through out the year...last draft pick, carefully and laboriously trained and managed.
Fact is we could manage Zellenoff to the championship if given the chance. And maybe that's just what we'll do.
