Pick 'em Fights That Were Completely One Sided

I'm not talking about a close points decision. I mean total domination of fights that were classed as pick 'ems or even fights where the boxing writers were divided.
Anyone want to start us off?

Keith, first thing that came to mind was the Donald Curry-Milton McCrory unification fight. It was built up perfectly with numerous title defenses by both on network TV that clearly separated them from the pack and I think it was regarded as a very even fight going in.

Great choice. I know it wasn't a pick 'em, but a lot of writers were licking Michael Spinks prior to the Tyson fight.

Joe Calzaghe vs Jeff Lacy comes to mind. If anything Jeff Lacy was the favorite, and he got his ass thoroughly handed to him by Calzaghe.

Shane Mosley vs Vernon Forrest 1 comes to mind. I'm sure Mosley was a heavy favorite as he was the much more well known Pro, but a few guys would've been going with Forrest maybe because of their amateur history, but Forrest completely dismantled him and beat him with ease.

Bernard Hopkins vs Tito Trinidad is another one. I'm sure Tito was the heavy betting favorite, but Hopkins dominated him all the way. He may have lost a round or so, but that's about it.
Winky Wright vs Tito Trinidad comes to mind as well. Complete domination by Winky.

Tito was the slightest of favorites against Hopkins. Lewis/Ruddock.

Wladimir Klitschko was a big favorite to beat Corrie Sanders. Got hit with everything Sanders threw ... Benvenuti-Monzon was supposed to be tough, it was one-sided for Monzon... Tyson was supposed to destroy Douglas... Napoles-Cokes was supposed to be tough... Jofre-Saldivar was supposed to be tough... Hearns-Duran was supposed to be tough... Judah-Tszyu was supposed to be tough.

For someone who alleges such boxing knowledge, you don't even know what a 'pick 'em' is.

What about Thomas Hearns v Roberto Duran?
I'm not sure, but I'd guess that folk at the time were a bit divided about two ATGs going up against each other & never envisaged the carnage that Hearns wrought upon Duran that night.

Calzaghe was a big underdog and people where concerned for his safety, Lacy came over to the Uk with the reputation of the new Mike Tyson. Calzaghe showed his brilliance that night beating up Lacy, punch perfect! 1000 plus punches landed, who else has done that?

Fury Chisora 2, Fury totally dominated Chisora without breaking a sweat it was easy for Fury that night.
Tyson vs Spinks lots of people giving Spinks a realistic chance of beating Tyson, both undefeated world champions, Tyson was an unbeatable brute that night.

What about Ali VS Foreman Ali played a master stroke on poor George before taking him out in style.

I'd class that as more of an upset. Most people gave Ali no chance at all.

Plus you'd have to score at least 3 or 4 of those rounds to George. The Rope A Dope wound up being a good strategy as George punched himself out, but he certainly won some rounds when Ali was just laying on the ropes getting hit in the sides for a full 3 minutes.

These weren't just pick 'em fights you ignorant A-hole... Although Naploles-Cokes I was pick 'em... Jofre Saldivar was... Hearns-Duran was... Judah-Tszyu was... and Benvenuti-Monzon was to a certain extent before any of those fights happened... but also fights where the odds-makers were f*cked up entirely... I expanded the concept a little---because fights that are supposed to be one sided for the favorite are sometimes one-sided for the underdog.

I don't recall what the odds were for Vitali Klitschko vs Samuel Peter were, but they had to be close considering Vitali was coming back from a 4 year layoff against the hard punching Peter, and Vitali completely dominated him.
