When you have a father managing his son's boxing career are his decisions too emotional, instead of norm, cold financial business decisions ? Did the Calzaghe's wait too long to go to America or was the timing perfect ? Could the Mayweather's have took more risks, where they would cemented Floyd's legacy or would he have not been unbeaten, if they had ? Have the Garcia's really profited fully and has his career blossomed or has it stagnated ? Im not a fan of mayweather as the person i see on tv or youtube but as a boxer imo he has done everything to be remembered as an all time great,the only few of things i think he could of done was fight pacman 4/5 years earlier,had a rematch with dela hoya,fought corrales at corrales' fightin weight not make him drain himself to super feather,fight tyzu and margarito at 140 and 147 respectively other than these he fought and beat the best of his era,no one has a whos who on ther record like mayweather and for me this was down to not just floyd snr but the mayweather family altogether. As for the garcia's swift was good at 140 and i do think his dad has a lot to do with it too,he gets inside the opponents head before fights and danny then goes in and finishes the job but at 147 its only a matter of time before danny loses his '0' because he has really gone off the boil since moving up imo. The calzaghes were a match made in heaven,joe had a will to win at all cost and enzo just knew what to say to get him to move it up to another level,if joe was with another trainer i dont know if he would of kept his '0' imo

Corrales was still fighting at 130lbs in championship fights four years after he fought Floyd, sorry to nitpick but i don't think you can call that forcing anyone to drain down, not when he fought casamayor there in 2004. 130lbs WAS Corrales' fighting weight when Floyd fought him, that wasn't a De la hoya/Pacquaio type bitch-move

That would be too extreme of an example and not everyone would know them, but I did post for people to give other examples, so thanks.

Gerry and Sam story seemed to work well

Others to consider Roy Jones, Oscar Dela Hoya, Shane Moseley, Robert Guerrero and fathers, who pushed them hard and right now over here Costakis Evangelou and his sons Chris and Andreas, Chris Aston and his son Tyrone Nurse, plus michael and Lucas Ballingall, even Kell Brook's father looks after his affairs, though not officially. Any others please mention.

Agreed, some of the Brits have made a good fist of it...notably the Calzaghes....although having read Joe's book there were numerous times when he would have happily throttled Enzo

I can't remember whether the mad, bad and dangerous to know Hilton clan were trained/managed by their Dad or not. He was a decent ex-pro and in the ring the brothers all had plenty of success.

Sadly Lenny Woodhall passed away last year, he was a real character and had a lot of knowledge, him and his son Richie Woodhall ( former WBC world champion) continued to work together on the training side, when Richie retired and became a trainer.

Once Joe Calzaghe was considering using a top American trainer, Enzo was not best pleased lol. I will never forget when Enzo said to Joe in the Hopkins fight " If you don't stop him, I will stop you" He was one crazy dude, but a great trainer, How many world champions did he produce ?
