Obviously there are people on here that are anti-matchroom and people who aren't, but I get the impression the consensus is pretty solid that Chris Eubank Sr is the one in the wrong here. Fr ank Wa rren has spoken about how unreasonable he is and now I'v seen Golovkin's manager say the same.

Is there anyone that thinks that Matchroom were wrong to say 'you know what? Forget it.'

I think it says everything about him that one of the few things Hearn and Warren agree about is that he's a bellend who's an absolute nightmare to deal with.

If he's knocked back the same deal Brook accepted then he's just being downright greedy and harmful to his sons career. Maybe they just didn't fancy the job and priced themselves out wasting a lot of people's time in the process. Either way the Eubanks don't come out of this looking good IMO.

Chris Eubank has been a hero to me for almost three decades now.

But in the last year I've realised that he lives in a bubble of lunacy.

He was always 'eccentric', but now seems to be bordering on insanity.

Hopefully this episode will slap some sense into him although I doubt it.

Same here,McGuigan was also a hero of mine but i don't like him much either,i know they're trying to get the best deals for their fighters but there must be limits.

By far the biggest fight of his son's career fell through because of his outrageous demands. Chris Snr is to blame for that.

And as far as it being a big deal, yes it is. This size of fight and opportunity may never present itself to him again.

Probably feels like he was messed around with the same people 20 odd years ago and maybe it's his way of getting his own back? I can't blame him for trying to get the very best deal with his own kid though. Most promoters are just used to doing what they like, then along comes Eubank and starts questioning things., you can't put all the blame on Chris Snr.

The concern is that he's going to keep repeating the same mistake.

This isn't the 1990's, boxers are not as well known in the UK as they once were, Eubank Sr acts as if his son is a huge star, but he's not, Chris Jr has a fairly small window to make money in, having started out quite late, and it's about maximising his earning potential, which isn't going to achieved by making ludicrous demands.

Sr's always been a primadonna, but his son lacks his charisma, and is operating in a very different era, he won't be able to get away with this shite.

I'm sure Benn would have liked (in hindsight) more money to face McClellan in what was probably his career highlight, hardest fight and the beginning of the decline of his career in a fight he wasn't expected to win by the majority of experts. Most didn't expect him to see more than 3 rounds.

You only get one career/life. As annoying as the Eubanks appear to be, it's a business at the end of the day (tm) and and Snr had a long and hard career at the top level and knows that there's only so many top flight paydays and promoters are hardly the most altruistic of people.
