Who does Anthony Joshua fight next?

According to Matchroom, Joshua is likely to fight next in around about November with another fight scheduled for early 2017 / spring. Parker is the mandatory for the IBF, but they could opt for a voluntary defence first. Matchroom have also expressed a desire to follow the 2 American opponents with a third, thus further strengthening their position within the American market.

Here's a pick of the best possibilities within the IBF rankings. Who do you think he should fight next?

Preferably Parker or Pulev but it's looking like Stiverne is in the frame.

Anyone but Ruiz would be good.

Stiverne is shot to shiit; he was floored and barely scraped past journeyman Derrick Rossy in his last fight.

It will probably be him and when Joshua dispatches him early they will say he did what Wilder couldn't do. The Parker fight will be a good one.

I've seen a lot of references to Pulev recently so I reckon that'll be the next fight for Joshua. Would be a good test.

I reckon he'll fight Stiverne. Which is basically a snore fight. Stiverne is very average.

Haye, Price, Pulev even Ruiz I'd be interested... but old, slow, basic Bernard. Come on

It surely has to be his mandatory, Joseph Parker.

I hope they don't roll out that pudding Chisora. Because Joshua should be well well well past that type of "interesting British fight" level now.

Nobody gives a flying eff about his pantomime weigh-ins anymore.

He's dined out on pressing forward against and old, shopworn Vitali Klitschko for way too long in my opinion.

It's all about the new blood like Parker etc in my opinion. The boxing fans are bored shitless of the old heavyweights still moping about for a cheque.

Chisora would be Joshua's best opponent to date by far.

Joshua is in no way past fighting Chisora.

Joshua would destroy Chisora at this moment in time imo.

I don't particularly rate Parker though to be honest. I think he's got a heavy dose of hype surrounding him but I don't believe the talent matches up to it.

I'd quite like to see Joshua put Chisora out to grass. Chisora would be up for the pay packet.

I don't think Price has enough belief to make it interesting.

Something I read/heard suggested its Chisora v Whyte for December, assuming obviously Whyte wins his fight and I dunno if he has one lined up but Chisora does the same.

That's more like it.

A new guy who has lost to Joshua vs An old guy who definitely would lose to Joshua

Joshua is still hugely unproven. He would not definitely beat Chisora.

Joshua passes your beloved eye test, but he does not pass my record test. Joshua's record is weak and he is very unproven at world level.

Joshua is one of the least credible world champions in boxing right now. Chisora would be his biggest win by some way.

Might as well, it would probably stop horse grinding his teeth too.

I'd imagine he'd whack the shite out of Chisora at this stage, Del looks to have very little ambition left.

if you were an oddsmaker, you would probably make Chisora favourite on this basis

There is zero mystique surrounding Chisora.

Nowadays he barks like a rottweiler and fights like a Shitzu.

Fair enough if Sky bundled this on regular tv - but if Sky continue to put Joshua on box office, yet still keep referring to as a novice and still learning - then people are going to be royally annoyed and will eventually turn on AJ. Infact I've noticed a trend of it already.

He's had his well-paid soft fights on box office and now it's time to start giving premium fans a premium bout, one in which AJ is not practically assured a victory.

He is 26 years old, an IBF world champion and 17-0 and can no longer dine on being a learner. Sky traded the L-plates in when they went for a world title and won it.

BJS is 23-0 and a 26 years old. Fury is 27 years old and veterans such as Khan & Cleverly are 29 years old. Joshua has been full-time in a gym for the last 8-9 years and it's time to crack on.

Pulev or Parker seem to be the next step and it's whilst it might be a fight or two early for Pulev, it's definitely the right time for Parker - and that's what they should go for.

An ambitious, unbeaten and well-ranked Parker who is in the ascendancy will give AJ the motivation that he needs at this stage of his career and will do him the world of good - as opposed to some pantomime Chisora fight.
