The great Thomas Hearns's left hook to the liver was an underrated one, also.

The greats Sugar Ray Leonard and Pernell Whitaker had underrated body attacks

Frazier had a pretty good right hand

Frazier had no right hand at all -- so it was overrated not underrated

Wladimir Klitschko had an underrated left hook... He put Ray Austin, Eddie Chambers, and Kubrat Pulev out with left hooks.

Gene Tunney had an underrated right hand...He floored Dempsey and stopped Tom Henney with it.

Mike Weaver had a left hook from Hell. He destroyed John Tate with it. The most easy going and lacking in killer instinct of any fighter ever.

tunney had a great right hand to the heart. in one of his bios, dempsey said he was actually afraid he was going to die when tunney hit him with that punch.

During the Gerry Cooney discussions on another board I watched highlights of a few of his fights. In his comeback fight after Holmes Cooney knocked down Phil Brown twice with rights. He's credited with getting Norton in trouble with a right, too.

Frazier had a very underrated right hand. Watch Quarry 2 and Ali 3 for reference. It seemed to get better with age.

*I think I mentioned in another thread, Ali had a very good left hook/uppercut thrown from a strange 45 degree angle.

*Frazier's jab was good and he threw it from the inside, so if you're not paying close attention, you just assume it was a hook.

*Duran had a good jab. I think someone mentioned that.

*Holmes' left hook to the body was nothing to sneer at.

*Frazier's right hand helped whip Quarry during their 2nd meeting.

If you're pretending Frazier had a real good right hand it is... He had a good left hook... He had a jab, but not a real good one... He wasn't known for a right hand because that wasn't a shot he could punch or counter extra sharply with... Guys with slick jabs and right counters nailed Foreman with those shots.

Jose Legra mentions a similar experience against Vicente Saldivar. Ive often wondered if this is a good yarn or legitimate account. Im sure a well timed shot to the heart cant be healthy , esp with the stress its under during a bout as it is. Personally i think concerns of heart palpitations or irregular heartbeats not too far fetched.

its not one i have seen very often but I do recall seeing a guy who was stopped, effectively, by a big right hand under the heart. he just sort of turned floppy instantly and slid along the ropes helpless

Muhammad Ali's lead Right from the Orthodox stance.

That kind of punch is no-no for an Orthodox fighter, but he nailed the likes of Foreman with that time & time again.

I didnt want to paraphrase as you gave an apt description of what Legra was quoted as saying. I did find the quote but not the entire interview, which i will link if i can find it.... its been a number of years....
