Who was the awful ring announcer? Worse than Mark Burdis.
Rose looked fantastic for 5 rounds using his left hand very impressively and then he was pretty much spent.

143-142 Rudkin on my card, great little tussle,Rose sweeping the 1st 5 rounds on my card showing a great left hand then Rudkin outworking him for the next 6 rounds, then a bit of to and fro with Alan pulling it out of the bag in the last round

Jones was coming into that fight with decent form, with wins over Walter McGowan & Jackie Brown as well as going the distance with Lionel Rose, all in his previous 4 fights.

Really?,i thought with Harry Carpenter saying about him being a bit of a traveller,he would have been a bit of a losing fighter,Rudkin was the 1st guy to KO him as well, good win for Alan then

Rudkin - Rose
1. 9 - 10 - Rose. A few good punches from Rose enough to separate them
2. 9 - 10 - Rose. Plenty nice crisp work from both. Few really nice left hand counters from Rose again separated them. Rudkin needs to keep his right up
3. 9 - 10 - Rose. That short counter left hook is so accurate and well timed. Someone should tell Rudkin to move his head on the way in, too easy target
4. 9 - 10 - Rose. Interesting that neither man chose to go on the front or back foot. Just circling in the middle of the ring. Rudkin trying to circle away from the left, so Rose just nailed him with a few hard rights
5. 9 - 10 - Rose. Rudkin showed a bit more ambition, trying to push Rose back. But Rose so fast and accurate, a few beautiful shots in there
6. 9 - 10 - Rose. Rudkin made it messy inside at times and disrupted Rose a little, but still the better shots from Rose. Quiet end to round
7. 9 - 10 - Rose. Still the better single shots from Rose. Struggled to see how Rose could lose this, but rounds getting closer
8. 10 - 9 - Rudkin noticeably growing in confidence now he isn't eating the counters. Not just tiredness from Rose, but his timing and distance miles off too
9. 10 - 9 - Rudkin. Closer round but better stuff from Rudkin
10. 9 - 10 - Rose. Close with success from both, but the fast start from Rose tipped it for him IMO
11. 10 - 9 - Rudkin. Rudkin regularly landing 2 or 3 to Rose's 1. Single counters not as effective when you're not avoiding what's coming at you.
12. 10 - 9 - Rudkin turning this into his fight. Working harder, landing more and having real success with the right hand, perhaps even hurting Rose
13. 9 - 10 - Rose. Found something extra during this round. Stopped being pushed back and even landed a couple of combinations
14. 9 - 10 - Rose. Good shots from both but Rose landed slightly more telling punches.
15. 10 - 9 - Rudkin. One of those great final rounds when you just know both fighters dug deep and left every last ounce in the ring. Rudkin found more in reserve and did that biut more work.
145-140 Rose
A good fight, plenty entertainment and a bit variety too. Good single shot counter punching and neat boxing from Rose and later in the fight Rudkin doing more in fighting and working in 2 and 3 punch combinations.
Never quite turned into a war but good action regardless.
Rose did tire, but it wasn't as significant as I thought it would be. Rudkins improvements in the fight probably played as big a part in it becoming a more even fight after the half way mark.
