Sergey Lipinets vs. Walter Castillo

Pretty good fight tonight on ESPN. Lipinets the undefeated 9-0 prospect against Castillo the more seasoned fighter who has faltered in the past when he's stepped up in class.
Lipinets has generally faced limited opposition, which through 9 fights is understandable. His last fight (KO of Levan Ghvamichava) was televised on one of those Tuesday night FS1 cards, but I didn't see it.
You might remember Castillo from that war he had with Keita Obara where Castillo scraped a draw even though he probably deserved to lose by a few points. He also lost a wide decision to Amir Imam way back on the JCC/Fonfara undercard.

Well I guess nobody gave a crap about this, but it was a good fight and I think Lipinets is very legit. Castillo came at him hard in the first few rounds and had some good success and even gave Lipinets a bad cut in the 4th, but Lipinets hung tough and Castillo eventually slowed down. Lipinets hurt Castillo in the 6th and then finished him in the 7th.
Lipinets/Obara or Lipinets/Imam would be great fights.

Haven't been able to watch much boxing anymore lately due to not having cable anymore and working weekends. But I am on vacation and I checked the espn boxing schedule and saw the card was on espn. Looked on eson and espn 2 and I missed it. I do plan on watching wilder/areola tomorrow though. On a side note I saw the don king office building right off the freeway on my way from the airport here in Florida.

I watched it and posted about it over on B&I and pretty much said what you said, takes a little bit to get going Lipinets but once he turned it up in ther 6th it didnt take long to get Castillo out of there
I was impressed with Tug on the undercard
