Vijender singh - thoughts?

How do you rate him? To be honest, I hadn't really followed his pro career that closely but I watched his fight with Hope on Saturday and I have to be honest- I thought he looked really slow and robotic looking.

Am I being harsh? Don't get me wrong, I hope he does really well as he seems a nice guy and also if boxing takes off in India it would be huge for the sport. I think he'll end up making a fair bit of money either way.

Just curious to hear other perspectives on his skillet?

Indian cash cow, managed right he will be the richest sport star on par with Mayweather, untouched Indian market with a boxer who is pretty good, quids in!

not seen much of his boxing, Kerry Hope has been his only live opponent.
vs. Amir Khan in future could be huge if built and handled rightly...

Seen him twice now in the flesh, hasn't passed the eye-ball test for me.

He's pretty good offensively when there's nothing coming back but he seems quite easy to hit for such an accomplished amatuer. He'll be exposed as he steps up if he doesn't tighten his defence. Perhaps there's more to him and he's just trying a little too hard to impress at the moment?

Comes across quite well in his interviews and seems a nice guy. Would be massive for he sport if it took off over that part of the world so all the best to him.

Thought he looked pretty ordinary, zero work rate, some decent punch placement, but despite his previous record, doesn't look to have much power.

Will get stage managed to some paydays, but looks to me not to have the workrate or power to go to the top, still early days, but for me, looks nothing special as a pro.

"Meh". If he wasn't Indian we wouldn't be talking about him. Simple as that really. Shame that Pakistan's Muhammad Waseem (who fought the following day) hasn't had as much publicity, he looks like a potential star from the region (though is based in Korea)

Anyone remember that Jewish heavyweight Roman Greenberg? Was supposed to be the first billion dollar man of boxing until Cedric Boswell exposed him.

I haven't seen Waseem- I'll have to check him out (depending on how easy it is to find footage).

Yeah what was that about? I've heard people mention this - was he hyped up at the start of his career?

He has fought all his fights at Super Middle,is listed by Boxrec as a Super Middle and fought the weekend for a title at super middle, I take it, that makes him a super Middleweight, though, I think Khan would still beat him, he is not that good.

I haven't been overly impressed, he was really hyped up before turning pro but I can't see what all the fuss is about to be honest.

He looks slow and rather 'deliberate'. But he will be maneovered into a big fight and potentially make history for an Indian fighter and a live crowd.

He's not great, but good enough to reach that position

Ps I remember Maloney had a couple of pros form India, years ago.... Called Sugar Raj a heavyweight and some other lower weight dude

Gets beat by the first decent opponent he faces. The allegedly love in for him is so transparent it's ridiculous.
