David Haye vs Tony Bellew coming soon!

Shannon Briggs has tweeted that Haye is fighting someone else next, and both Bellew and Haye are looking to fight in October. So one can surmise that Haye-Bellew is on!
Briggs is only in the sport these days for a payday he's not trying to earn, he's trying to talk his way into it. I don't feel sorry for him at all if he never gets a payday without earning it.lefty wrote:Gotta feel for Briggs. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he deserved the fight on merit but I warmed to him somewhat and he put a lot of work in self promoting.
Wether Haye fights Bellew or not he would still be the best name on AJs record and the biggest earner.Killer Blow wrote:If Haye actually fights Bellew there's no way he should even be allowed to face Joshua. It would be bum fight of the year hands down.
Yeah, but it kind of sticks in your craw that Haye can take the piss like that and get a shot at the title.Stuarty30 wrote:Wether Haye fights Bellew or not he would still be the best name on AJs record and the biggest earner.Killer Blow wrote:If Haye actually fights Bellew there's no way he should even be allowed to face Joshua. That's true. You do have to question how serious he is about his 'comeback' with these cabbages he's fighting. Him and AJ would still be a big earner because Haye is a 'name'. Haye should be looking to fight someone like Stiverne or Takam if he is serious but as you say, it's probably just a money inspired 'comeback'.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Yeah, but it kind of sticks in your craw that Haye can take the piss like that and get a shot at the title.Stuarty30 wrote:Wether Haye fights Bellew or not he would still be the best name on AJs record and the biggest earner.Killer Blow wrote:If Haye actually fights Bellew there's no way he should even be allowed to face Joshua. Haye's not a real fighter any more, I don't even think he cares whether or not he wins against Joshua, just another payday. It's a shame, because at Cruiserweight Haye was really exciting, and showed great guts and desire in the ring, but really, his heavyweight career has been largely a farce.
I mean, is Haye even any good any more, at his age and with such a piss poor level of competition, who can say. What's for certain is none of these fights will prepare him for Joshua, or improve his chances.
If the public are daft enough to part with their hard earned then that's their problem.Killer Blow wrote:But he's not calling them warm up fights. He's pretending these are world class opponents and completely ripping of the public. He commits GBH on a pair of part time cab drivers then has the audacity to claim one of them had a good chin, after they took a dive off a jab.
He hasn't fought a decent professional in over 4 years and is going round saying he's the best heavyweight in the world.
When he's facing guys with 33-1-1 and 29-0 records you can't blame them for thinking they were actual fights. He specifically picked the two heavyweights with the most padded records out there.Stuarty30 wrote:If the public are daft enough to part with their hard earned then that's their problem.Killer Blow wrote:But he's not calling them warm up fights. What if Haye fought Brian Minto instead?Killer Blow wrote:If Haye actually fights Bellew there's no way he should even be allowed to face Joshua. It would be bum fight of the year hands down.
Yeah true but it's their own fault. A quick scan on BoxRec would tell em all they need to know. I hate going to shows and having to stand and listen to all the know it alls talk pish at the bar areas and they only come in for the main event. Most have the cheek to moan if it's an early KO! They get on my tits that mob.Killer Blow wrote:When he's facing guys with 33-1-1 and 29-0 records you can't blame them for thinking they were actual fights. Wouldn't be any different from they two turnips he fought previously really!BitPlayer wrote:What if he fought Brian Minto instead?Stuarty30 wrote:Wether Haye fights Bellew or not he would still be the best name on AJs record and the biggest earner.Killer Blow wrote:If Haye actually fights Bellew there's no way he should even be allowed to face Joshua. I've always felt that Briggs was just a hired stooge who was put up to give Haye some relevance whilst he was knocking over daffodils.lefty wrote:Gotta feel for Briggs. I'd be rooting for Haye, not that he'd need my support, because it's a total mismatch in prospect.clopixolacuphase wrote:It's better than the Briggs fight in that I will actually want somebody to win.
Come on Tony.
I'll watch it in the pub, I suppose.
Tony Bellew is a world champion. Not liking someone doesn't make their achievements less real.Syntax Error wrote:I'd be rooting for Haye, not that he'd need my support, because it's a total mismatch in prospect.clopixolacuphase wrote:It's better than the Briggs fight in that I will actually want somebody to win.

Bellow was bad enough before he won a 'world' title trinket, be he must now be bordering on insufferable as he can walk around Liverpool as if he owns it, calling himself a 'world champion'!![]()
