Thoughts on this fight which is shaping up for Sept in New Zealand?

Word is Dimintrenko is about to be announced as Parker's next opponent shortly. The Big Eastern European in my opinion has gone backwards over the past 2-3 years especially since being stopped by Pulev. Almost sitting static until an opportunity to 'cash out' (hate using that term) presented itself. Given his record and his dimensions Sacha will still look the part. He's big yes, but slow and plodding in my opinion. JP has to much hand speed and pop Im predicting a a late rounds stoppage. Very good opponent choice in my opinion as other than sheer size i cant see Sacha presenting many problems?

As/always, especially with powerful heavies, anything can happen, but the impression is that Parker is on the way up and D is now on the way down.

Never heard of him. Hope he's good and that Parker knocks him out. NZ might get put off buying Parkers fights if they're too easy.

Dimitri looks like Ivan Drago, but got dropped twice and beaten by chubby, light-punching cruiserweight, Eddie Chambers. Parker should stop him in the middle rounds.

Luis Ortiz 100% should be included in that top tier. He's the one everyone in the division is avoiding currently. Very talented and dangerous fighter.

Why Haye?. . .He is not a factor in the heavyweight championship sweepstakes. . . The Brits have Tyson, Joshua and Hughie.. . . Why is Haye always dredged along with Chisora and Price. . My gawd it's as bad as Americans who would mention Arreola in the upper tier.

Agree. His two so-called comeback fights were fakes.

I'm still curious about Jun Long Zhang, I think he's good enough to beat Deontay Wilder for example.

Dimitrenko was considered a prospect... ages ago. If Parker has any difficulties with him now, it simply means we can put a fork in him as well.

I'm also pretty curious. I mean we're talking about a guy here that blitzed George Arias inside 2 rounds, who in his three previous fights went the distance with Takam, Pulev and Hughie. 100% knockout rate, and only been taken as far as 5 rounds so far. Quietly going about his business...

He have no time to procede quietly...he is 34yo, that had only home fights in China. Had only 2 opponents somebody heard about, both close to 40yo and usually serve as punching bags to ranked boxers before their significant fights.

And talking about China...who knows how honest the fights were...

Yeah don't get me wrong, the whole thing maybe lacking any genuine credibility, but he is tickling along. Racks up a few more impressive wins against more credible opposition, surely someone somewhere has gotta start taking him seriously.

Dimitrenko moves very lightly for a huge heavy.

he'll dance for the first couple of rounds...try to land single shots and get fed up around the 5 or 6 th round.

if Parker lands he'll knock him out

dimitrenko's biggest downfall is his reluctance to throw combinations

Nope, never seen, but let him face someone again, and see what happens. The Arreola fight seemed a lot more fake to me actually.

Tyson in 1987 defended his brand new title 4 times so that's pretty close. 2 of those fights were unification bouts of the only real sanctioning bodies at that time. Basically in that year he fought the best of the best.

As a Parker fan it's great we don't have to wait too long till we see our hero back in action. Also he never let's us down.

Dimitrenko is chosen because of his size. There must be said that Dimitrenko recently had several fights scheduled which have never actually happened ( and not just the Briggs fight). For Dimitrenko this is the most easy and shortest way to a belt. He will be mandatory straight away if he wins. He probably doesn't fight Parker for the money, but for the chance on big money.

Dimintrenko no doubt picks up a nice little packet of cash for the Parker fight. However as someone has already eluded to he beats Parker then hes making serious CASH against AJ next.

If Eddie Chambers can drop and hurt Dimi then JP will stop him once he connects flush and often!

Maybe dangerous. Possibly avoided. Should he be included? Well if he should then I guess he had best hook one of those fights where he 's being avoided. How about him and Haye maker?
Until I see something significant on the map yet he gonna remain on outside in my book.

Joseph Parker is incredible. I think....he loses close decision vs AJ boxer. Rematch he wins. Third fight, I think wins too!
