Probably someone has written about this fight already, but just watching it over
again now... wow. How do you score it?

Rounds 1-2 george obviously although it wouldn't be unfair to deduct a point for the second low blow

Round 3-somewhat even

Round 4 and 5-Alex had his moments but kept eating the jab as he attempted to land his own while landing sone heavy right hands. Hard to score but I'm leaning towards Alex

Round 6 Alex landing at will but wasted a lot of time waiting for foreman and moving.

Round 7-Alexs best round, foreman offered little resistance and was clubbed against the ropes

Round 8-foreman imposes his will with jabs and lands some nice uppercuts. Stewart lands a few good jabs and flurries of his own but definitely Foreman's round.

Round 9-another extremely frustrating round to watch. Alex was gunshy and not take initiative the last 50 seconds with some devent uppercuts. You could argue did enough to win the round though but Foreman landed many heavy shots as well. Foreman had quantity, Alex had quality.

Round 10-wow foreman loses a point for a low blow in a round he was winning...jeez. what a brutal ugly slugfest.

I can definitely see why some people thought Alex won. A draw wouldn't be wrong or a split decision win. He landed a lot of punches but wasted the first minute of almost every round waiting for George to make the first move. George on the other hand had the two knockdowns and was the aggressor 70% of the time. He controlled much of the fight with his jab, ring generalship, and cutting the ring off. Trying to outbox foreman backfired because Stewart kept standing still and got out jabbed. If he had kept moving, took initiative and threw more combinations I think he would have gotten the nod. However, they both landed nearly exactly the same number of punches and, if you score the second round 10-7 like lederman, I could see foreman getting a SD but certainly not unanimous.

I think you're right, but not everyone should agree with me.

tough guy was stewart, fought some big names and barring the tyson fight always gave a good (albiet losing) account of himself, also didnt realise he represented jamaica in the 84 olympics.

Stewart landed the better, more numerous, and more damaging punches... He won clear as day... I thought Foreman would beat Stewart up severely and knock him out -- given how easily Mike Tyson ran Stewart over Stewart a year earlier.
