Kell Brook`s record

Was looking through this again the other day. His best win is obviously porter, which was a very close fight in my opinion. After that you probably have Senchenko, Jones, Gavin and Matthew Hatton??? That is not a top notch record (he was lucky to beat Jones in the 1st fight as well)

Now people call out GGG as not having had any big fights or names, but they guy has beaten Geale (former world champ), Lemieux (former world champ) macklin (multi word championship challenger), Martin Murray (Multi World Championship challenger) and a few other decent fighters (Rosario, Rubio, Proska, Ouma, Stevens) etc) He stopped them all. People say that Brook would beat all of GGG`s opponents. At middleweight I`d not be too sure of him beating the likes of Murray, Lemieux, Geale and Stevens for example.

I just cannot see on what basis anyone can give brook even the slightest chance when moving up two weights to fight this man. it`s suicide.

Go in, balls deep, treat yourself to a Norwegian hooker on the profits from Nurse and GGG.

GGG knockout all the way :D Free money on offer. Those nugget hookers will be sick of the sight of me after I`m finished with the GGG slaughter.

I'm a fan of Brook but his record is pish poor. He's stepping up and shown some balls here though so can't be too hard on him. None of us knows for sure what goes on behind the scenes.

Just like Canelo v Khan I think Brook will have a few promising moments before the inevitable happens and he's stopped. I think he'll last til the later rounds though. 9-11 GGG stoppage.

Kells record is sub par without doubt and Golovkin has some solid (if unspectaculer) wins on his record.
But I don't think it is particularly far fetched to say that Kell is capable of out boxing the likes of Lemieux and Stevens, out working Murray and possibly stopping Geale.
That being said, I see no way Kell can last 12 rounds with Golovkin.

I would agree that Brook pound for pound is probably a better fighter than these four, but fighting them at their weight rather than his own weight (welter/light middle) is another thing altogether. Lemiuex hits harder than any fighter Brook has faced in the ring. If carson Jones and Senchenko can rock brook, then I think if Lemiuex caught him flush (as he did Golovkin) then Brook would be in trouble.

Brooks puncheeese (tribute to Jim Watt) will have little to no effect on GGG, whilst every time GGG lands it`s gonna register big time. Ballsy move by Brook, but money aside, it`s a foolish one. I think this may be the last we see of Brook in a ring. this beatdown is gonna shatter his confidence to pieces and leave him on the edge of retirement, albeit with a very healthy bank balance.

He`s no spring chicken himself and this fight will set him up for life financially. As Eddie always says, it`s life changing money.

I`d love nothing more than to proven totally wrong here, but common sense says that he will be smashed to bits. The only question is whether GGG will take it easy on him early so as not to prove what most people are saying, ie: a total mismatch.

He has said that he carried other fighters to give the fans a longer fight. He could carry Brook. For me if GGG comes out with KO intent from the first bell, he finishes Brook in the first two rounds.

Yeah his record is tosh. His past defences against Donut Dan, Gavin and that other guy who lost to Donut Dan were jokes.

GGG's criticism is a bit unfair. Lemieux is probably the fourth best MW in the division (I put him behind Canelo, Jacobs and of course, GGG but ahead of Saunders), Geale, Murray and Macklin are solid wins for anyone's resume. Curtis Stevens was well hyped and many were picking him to beat GGG so at the time it was a good fight, if in hindsight he's been revealed to be a Euro level fighter at best.

All of GGG's top wins are far better than any name on Brook's resume bar Porter. I actually don't think Porter is all that great anyway really. He fights in a division which gets overhyped because it's one of the few that Americans have any success in and most of his wins come from B and C level fighters like Broner and Paulie or fighters who are shot like Diaz and Alexander.

Brook wont make it to round 3 if ggg doesnt carry him abit. Im also sick of people saying "brook has shown some balls" blah blah blah he is taking the fight cause he knows he will get the biggest payday of his life for this, after this fight i will be surprised if we ever see brook in the ring again and if we do he wont be the same. I always say "ive never seen broom get out of 2nd gear" but thats because he hasnt got any more gears and the jones fights shown us all that. Put the pressure on brook and he crumbles,he doesnt know what to do cause he doesnt have the space to do what he wants. against porter he was under pressure and couldnt do what he wanted but the judges handed him the belt,i had porter winning that fight. Brook will get knocked out early, martin murray is a tough man and ggg had him up and down like a yoyo, geale is a tough man and ggg had him up and down like a yoyo macklin has been there done that and ggg folded him like a deck chair, out of all the MW fighters ggg has beaten whilst being champ i wouldnt have brook beating any of them, just my opinion like.

same things were said about calzaghes record for years. didnt make him a poor fighter. theres plenty of names that brook couldve had on his record if his team had been creative or he hadnt been avoided. the guy is still unbeaten, and the first jones fight apart, he has beaten everyone with relative ease.
the jump in weight may well be a step too far, but it gives him an opportunity to test his chin and his skills with the so called best in the division, but he's getting grief for doing the very thing that they say he hasnt done in the past...fighting big names. i thnk he will do well, maybe even get the win.

I wonder if it has dawned on Brook yet that he is going to be flat out a kip.

I hope not, I like Brook but he is going to earn this payday the hard way

Caught a little bit of fast eddie trying to sell this fight in the latest presser... talking up Brook's chances

He doesn't really need to ham up this match-up, everyone knows it's a gross mismatch, but he managed to bring a fighter in the calibre of Golovkin to the UK, that sells itself.

You start thinking like that then you're beaten before you even get in the ring (which he kind of is  )

I'd love to know what's going through his mind though. Is he really confident? Weird and wonderful creatures are pro boxers!

Yeah your not wrong there mate, my ass would be flapping. Strong minded fellas these boxer types :OhYes:

It always winds me up when people say "Id get knocked out for the kind of money he is on" for a non fighter, Getting in the ring with GGG would be like standing in front of a speeding car

I hope not. The hard way would be the way Lemieux earned his crust. He took one brutal beatdown. Sustained battering round after round, totally outclassed and outgunned. Lemieux went up in my estimations after that fight. He was`t just a pretty boy who could punch, he was a warrior who took his lumps like a man and showed great pride and guts. he was simply levels below the guy in front of him.

I hope for Brooks`s sake that it is not a drawn out beatdown, but a clinical one punch job. Problem is apart from the Japanese kid (as violent as it was) GGG does`t tend to knock them out clean (ref Pacman v Hatton and Canelo v Khan). That`s the painless way to go. You always have the excuse of "yeah he caught me with a great shot"

However a brave guy with a decent chin against GGG needs a merciful ref or cornerman, otherwise he is in for a long night of pain. GGG looks like he enjoys breaking the poor buggers down and just imposing his will and strength on them.

It`s easy to get carried away with him, but I haven`t seen many like him in over 30 years of watching a lot of boxing. The guy has it all. Great footwork, excellent judge of distance, ice cold, top level power and what looks like an iron chin.

I just wish he had come around 30 years ago so we could have seen in with Hagler prime for prime. I would have pimped out my missus to be ringside at that fight.

If Brook has to go down, let it be a clinical one punch job. That way he he might come back from this experience. if he takes a Lemieux style hammering, he`s toast.
