They made a fortune against Quigg, so i suppose they can now afford to take the odd small(ish) purse if they feel it is worth it in the long run.

Besides, I'm sure the titanic quarter will be packed for his comeback fight later this year, which will do their bank balance no harm at all.

Frampton isn't in a bad position at all, career wise or financially.

$500k not a great purse for a world title headlining fight, but certainly worth the risk in the long run, especially with a fighter like Santa Cruz who he obviously fancied he could beat.

He's now in the driving seat, 2-weight world champ, national hero and now made inroads into the US market - he can potentially make some really big money in his next few fights. Massive kudos to Frampton, an example to certain boxers who want it all their way purse-wise, venue-wise etc.

$500k is only the registered purse with commission - Carl probably got a lot more then that in reality

I understand that the 500K is what is in the contract that the commission has. Frampton got more than that for the fight, that figure does not include TV rights etc.

Still respect to him for going out of his comfort zone and challenging himself, he could have easily took some easy defences in Ireland and made some easy dough out of the big crowds.

If it is around the £500k mark then i'm astonished. He made three times that amount fighting Quigg.

Like others said , it was probably a lot more ,, but regardless your only has good has your last fight and he took a risk , put his balls on the line , and done the buisness , when he could of sat back milked the irish public and remained undefeated ,, Kudo's to him whatever he makes good on him

He can choose which passport.

However is he subject to Irish or UK tax depending on what nationality he chooses, or will he pay UK tax regardless?

Wonder if Irish income tax is lower?

Whilst you can choose your nationality and passport you are still a UK tax payer if you live in NI.

As I recall he had to chase the promoter for ages before getting paid, in fact I'm sure I read that in the end Frank had to pay his purse because the promoter wouldn't cough up.

I don't think Froch made that as defending WBC champion when he went over and fought Taylor.

With these type of fights though, you have to calculate the reward in levels of profile and reputation - not just $$$.

Frampton can now stay at home and defend his title till the wheels falls off and nobody can really say he's hiding from anything.

I do agree with Frampton's comments about Rigo, the guy brings absolutely nothing to the negotiating table and some of his 'performances' have been horrible to watch, regardless how skillful he is.

I do however have a hunch that the juicy PBC money might see Frampton battle stateside a few more times yet, unless a Sky Box office show turns his head. He's in a really solid situation now.
