What's happening with Alex Arthur?

Post-Gomez his career seems all over the shop.

Is he still training under Freddie Roach? In fact did he EVER train with Roach?

Any suggested opponents?

The Roach thing always struck me as a PR thing. Did it ever amount to anything?

He's not with Peter Harrison any more, Roach hasn't visted the UK (as far as I am aware) and Arthur hasn't gone to train in the states - so who is training him?

Dean Powell and Terry McCormack train him here. He may be out till October while he has an operation to remove a cyst on his knee.

By your use of the word "here" can I assume that the Roach arrangement is intended to continue.

To me the greatest benefit of joining Roach's stable would be the quality of the sparring over there - by staying here he doesn't even get that.

Yes, he is still trained by Roach in the States. He went over there for four weeks before his comeback fight with Michael Kizza earlier in the year.

Arthur is nothing but a big headed twat who should start concentrating on his fighting and forget the talking.

I think its obvious that he went on a downward spiral not long after leaving the Harrison camp to base himself in the East. He should forget about all the talk regarding Roach training him unless he is prepared to travel to the states full time as i cant see Roach coming all the way to Scotland for domestic scraps - he has bigger fish to fry with the likes of Toney and Tyson in his gym and both with upcoming fights.

It wont matter anyway because Docherty will school him if he gets the chance, and you can take that to the bank :TU:

Arthur is finished. You don't come back from a beating like Gomez gave him and bring the same confidence into the ring. He'll never amount to anything.

Arthur = finished. (and I'm glad, he's a knob)
