I actually had him losing the fight, it was a close, two of the judges scorecards were ridiculous, I thought Santa Cruz out worked Frampton and clinched it by winning the last 3 rounds, I had it by 2 rounds to Santa Cruz, I also thought it was a very good performance by Frampton, Santa Cruz is a really good fighter and never stops throwing, the both had their moments. Got to be a rematch, was a great fight, two top class fighters.

Achievement wise, it's fantastic, right up there. Santa Cruz has to be one of the outstanding boxers out there, he demonstrated ability in every department..... a bigger whack and it would have been a different outcome.

Performance wise, he knows he could have done better. There were moments in the fight where he was moving in, throwing superb combinations and coming out at angles completely un-retaliated. Other times he lost concentration and got drawn. I think he'll do better in a rematch.

I was really routing for him, so scored it pessimistically. I had him losing by a round, but as a fan I could easily have given it to him by 3.

Chuffed to bits though.

Up there with the best performances on foreign soil. I've watched the fight again twice and IMO the correct man got the nod. Great performance by both guys and hopefully they do it again in Belfast.

frampton put in a good performance. for me, i'd like to see a rematch though

The Draw was fair, but the other judges must have had Irish heritage lol.

Certainly the most emphatic win. Nobody saw that coming, certainly not Donald, he was like a deer in the headlights.

I had Santa Cruz by 1 but there was a lot of close rounds and it come down to what you like so couldn't argue what way it went. Brilliant win for Frampton though. up there with the best on foreign soil.

Really? I can't see how it beats Honeyghan smashing the shite out of Curry, who at the time was considered a top 5 p4P fighter, and hadn't shown the slightest signs of being beatable.

Frampton was nowhere near as dominant as Honeyghan was that night, although the scorecards might have had it wide, the reality is, that was a fight that could have gone either way.

Great performance, but best performance ever on US soil, no way.

Froch v Taylor was a great fight and win. The only question is whether Taylor was shot before the Froch fight or was he "Cobra`d"

Either way, that last round was EPIC.

Frampton`s was an excellent win as well (I had it a draw). Santa Cruz was/is a top fighter, BUT I don` t think he`s the best in the division. Frampton would have to beat Russel Jr for me to class him as the top guy in the division.

Great result though for Frampton and so pleased for him. Really like the little fella.

The unofficial judge on Showtime had Frampton up by about 6 rounds. The commentators seem to have him comfortably ahead too.

A Mexican American mate of mine (who's also a boxing writer) had Frampton up by a couple of rounds

I didn't score it as I just wanted to enjoy the action without analysing anything but felt that Frampton was landing the better punches throughout but so many rounds were subjective.

All in all a great fight but I do feel that Russell would beat both of them.

remember watching it with my dad n we both stunned, Curry was fearsome

for me it ranks alongside mcdonnells wins over the japanese fella and brooks win over porter, so a good win for frampton but the likes of honeygahn and laing have better IMO

I mean I thought the fight was a draw, but Frampton still fought beautifully, and won his rounds more emphatically. I had no issue with him getting the decision as if anybody deserved it, it was him.

It has to rate pretty damn highly for Irish Boxers, he's on track to be the first Irishman in my lifetime to gain Fighter of the Year honors.

Did he? Sure didn't seem like he was very busy in the 1st half of the fight; many of those must have been tentative underreaching shots.

And the way he stood in front of colin jones,a noted puncher,and almost removed his nose was also a brilliant performance,Curry had not really showed any kind of weakness at all and was at his absolute peak when Honeyghan tore him apart.

Apparently. If his output was lower than usual early, you surely have to credit Frampton for hurting him early and punching him out of his game plan. You don't tend to rush hard at a bloke who's wobbled you badly just now, in fact some would say its a good idea not to.
