If you said "Hey look it's floats like butterfly, hits like butterfly Paul Malignaggi" as though you're saying it to a friend standing next to you but its just you pointing at him and your purposely say it near him so he knows you intentionally wanted him to hear you say it, would he think it was funny?

Cuz I find this scenario hilarious. Yup.

I doubt he'd find it funny at all and i wouldn't be too worried . He can't pile up points with the jab in a street fight.

He's a whiny little man, who's only great accomplishment was hanging with a prime cotto (who I was never really big on either)

P.S. Always thought judges got his first Juan Diaz fight absolutely correct,Paulie out worked him no doubt, but baby bull walked through them all night and was landing the more effective shots - the rematch was different story - I think the backlash Diaz heard after first fight, influenced him into thinking he needed to fight differently or he was gonna lose, and he got caught falling too far behind and couldn't adjust

when you consider his lack of power he had an excellent career. fought some of the best, and mustve earned a decent bit of cash. he is also an excellent tv pundit, and usually gets his predictions right. you are deluded if you think he wouldnt be much in a streetfight

I'm kinda with you with the Juan Diaz thing. The first fight was close, I think Malignaggi edged it, but it wasn't the worst decision ever.
But Paulie made it seem like it was the worst decision ever.

Not too big on Cotto either, but Paulie did hang tough when no one else was surviving.

Cotto shellacked him, he took it like a man but that fight wasn't remotely close.

imo Paulie vs Guerrero or Algieri.
All three are clearly on the downside of their careers but two of them in the ring together on an undercard could be interesting.

Ya, I also thought the first Diaz fight was very close, and in my opinion the result wasn't a robbery, although 10-2 was certainly a ludicrous score.

Algieri would beat Paulie handily. Guerrero would also beat him.

Paulie has been shot for years. He probably lost to Pablo Cano for christ sake. This all goes to show how much Adrien Broner sucks. A shot Paulie arguably beat him.

Shane Mosley vs Paulie would be a more competitive matchup.

Broner < 140 does not suck. That Broner has been just as dominant as anyone in boxing, minus a few names because of the stupid trips to 147.
Broner at 147 is simply not consistently competitive enough.

HOWEVER ... Many people, including me had him clearly winning against Paulie. Paulie was landing slaps that haters score. Broner was rocking him around.
His other two trip to 147 were against TOP competition in which he was competitive, but clearly lost.

The Paulie fight seems to have morphed into a robbery, or at least a debatable decision, but I thought it was generally considered a fair win for Broner at the time and I can't see how Paulie won more than 5 rounds (I had it 9-3 or 8-4). In my view Paulie took 3 of the first 4 when Broner was trudging forward without punching, and then had a case for the 12th when Broner wasn't too busy but still threw more than he did in the early rounds. There may have also been a middle round Paulie had an argument for, but apart from that I thought Broner let his punches go and was clearly bullying Paulie around the ring with harder shots.

To me it's as if some think that with the passage of time others will forget how the fight went. It would be interesting to see which rounds people thought Paulie had a good case for; perhaps if I'd have a different view on some of them upon another viewing.

Can you separate his competition? That helps.

He's had a good career and can be proud. Two weight world champion for a guy who can't punch isn't too bad at all. He shouldn't hang around though. Saturday is about as good as it's gonna get for him at this stage in his career. I like him as a pundit and he's got a promising career ahead of him in that department.

Broner is great against guys who suck. Against guys who dont suck, emm, not so much. The 140 lb division is alot better now than it has been. Let's see how great he looks against Crawford, Postol, Mikey Garcia. The guys he beat at 135-140 stink.
