Check out this interview where Sexton spells it out to Whyte:

Now Sexton and Whyte have both won their eliminatior bouts - Whyte still ain't stepping up for the Lonsdale?

I think Sexton would stop Whyte - you?

Nah I don't think Sexton stops Whyte. Other way around for me. Mid-late stoppage for Whyte in a one sided fight.

I think Whyte wins, but I think this could last the distance.

Don't rate Whyte at all but Sexton is nothing that special and is too chinny. Since getting KO'd by Price he's just spent the past 4 years fighting absolute bums. His only decent win came against Rogan back in 2009.

Neither have won a official eliminator. Purse bids were for a eliminator between Allen and sexton also English was approved.

I fancy Whyte on points.

Hope Sexton gets a decent payday. Career been ruined by some awful Injurys.

Nice Matchroom undercard fight this.

Whyte vs Sexton is unworthy of being for the vacant British title.

Whyte v Chisora or Price would be better but I don't mind Sexton tbh. I'd rather that than the title sitting vacant.

Sexton is terrible and does not deserve a shot at the British title.

It would be better for the title to remain vacant.

No, I'm not.

Why should Sexton get a British title shot when he has only fought low level journeymen for the last 4 years?

Chisora, Haye, Whyte, Price, H. Fury, Sprott, McDermott and Allen should all be above him in the pecking order.

Urgh I got about 45 seconds into that and had to turn it off. "He's a plastic gangster he doesn't want to fight me. Everybody's talking about the fight between me and Dillian Whyte"

No they're not. Sexton is irrelevant and Whyte is fast becoming the same. pathetic attempt to build another grudge match. They should have just done Chisora Whyte while it still seemed like a fun fight. The U.K. heavyweight Renaissance has rapidly nose dived, with Fury taking a million years to even fight his rematch and Joshua fighting the crappiest fights he can get away with, Haye being a complete embarrassment, and then after that the quality drops off rapidly: shot Chisora, the ghost of David Price, Hughie ''sick note' Fury, and the clearly limited Whyte now fighting turnips like Sexton and Allen.

Boring.

Chisora/Price yes. That's if they're willing to take the fight against Whyte. Are they? Not so sure about Price. Chisora maybe. Haye isn't going to go back and fight for a domestic title. H.Fury knocked back the opportunity so that rules him out. The board knocked back Allen already.

Sprott and McDermott?   Have you ever considered stand up?

Let Whyte and Sexton contest it if Chisora and Price aren't interested. Again it's better than the title lying vacant and gathering dust!

In what way is the terrible Sam Sexton more credible than either of them?

It would be a disgrace to the title.

Why would every top 10 domestic fighter turn down the chance to fight for the British title? Most of them are not really doing anything.

 I won't dignify your first question with a reply

It's not a disgrace to the title if he meets the boards criteria and is the best available to challenge Whyte. At least it gets the title back in circulation.

It would be a disgrace and it would lower the standing of the British title.

Sexton is a joke.

I don't believe the likes of Chisora and Haye are remotely interested in the British title, but the likes of Price, Whyte and H. Fury should definitely have it on their radar.

It should definitely be occupied by someone. At the end of the day, if the likes of Sexton hold the belt, they'll be easy pickings for the bigger boys. Unfortunately the British title is dropped very quickly as soon as someone whispers European or World level.

it's not because I can't it's just that I won't and shouldn't have to. McDermott and Sprott? Dear dear :shame:

It doesn't lower the standing of the title at all. McDermott or Sprott would though.

Whyte would make short work of Sexton who has gone nowhere for the last few years. Plenty of good prospects in the UK heavy scene though so its still a very exciting division if fights can be made.

No I don't. He's ok domestically but that's it. If Him and Whyte were to contest the vacant title then Whyte would beat him handily. I'd just rather that than the title remaining vacant. That's all. I'd rather Chisora or Price went for it but if they don't Sextons fine with me.

Lay about lewison is a better fighter than Sexton will ever be although he doesn't look fit enough to go the distance in a title fight.

I wouldn't even complain if him and Whyte fought for the title. I hate when titles are just lying vacant. It's a waste. Lewinson has a lot of talent. It's a pity he doesn't have the dedication to match because he could've very well picked up a British title and who knows what else?

I don't think Chisora or Haye want the British title, T. Fury certainly won't, and I doubt Price does. Sprott just got knocked out in a round by Christian Hammer, he's long gone. H.Fury is probably still too ill for a decent fight. I think, assuming he still wants to fight, have a Sexton-Mcdermott eliminator.
