Would you rather be a crossover star, or richer ?

Make 2 million on ITV, with 100% crossover appeal. Amt & Dec, Mr & Mrs, the works. Recognised everywhere.
Or be an obscure PPV fighter, known only to hardcore, but much richer.
Ego or wealth ?

Easy choice for me - I think I'd go genuinely crazy if I was even semi well-known, so I'd take the lower profile with increased riches any day.

I can`t think of anything worse than being famous, especially since the creation of social media and the interweb.
No privacy at all and everywhere you go some celebrity obsessed loon is filming you to put it on twatter, mashbook or some other form of mind numbing pish.
Mashbook has it`s uses, but it also an outlet for needy women to vent their insecurities on the public. My misssus uses it and I have looked through her page (to make sure she aint getting a sly length off some strong thighed bargeman named Leroy) and you basically see nonsense like "Oh no, what am I going to do now........" or "I can`t believe it.......typical me......."
Then some gullible muppet replies "What is it? Are you alright? PLEASE PLEASE TELL US". It`s such pish. I wrote (hiding behind my missus`s login obviously) "Button it you drama queen" and the page erupted with abuse, defending this bird. My poor missus got so much stick for it and had to explain that it was in fact me.
It is so bad. People delve through their photos to find the absolute best one of themselves or even worse, their kids, hoping to get "likes" and nice comments. Jesus Christ. Isn`t that what we used to call attention seeking and desperate need for compliments??
It can be used positively, but in general is just another tool that controls people`s thinking and reinforces the plastic throwaway fame obsessed world that we live in today. People seem more concerned with their "likes" status on facebook than issues such as a lunatic like Donald trump could soon bring the world into meltdown. "I aint got time to look at that, as I have to win some grain to feed my virtual chickens"
I could go on all day with this stuff, it really get`s my back up. Society has become a much shallower place as a result of social media. It aint real no more brothers, it just aint real.
Couples having arguments online in full view of a bunch of mindless feckwits who follow it. Why would anyone even consider that having an argument with your spouse (who is probably sat five feet away from you whilst you are typing) should be for public consumption and secondly that ayone would find it even remotely interesting. problem is there are many people who actually do follow this shit and lap it up. It`s such a base base level of "entertainment". Read a book instead, go out and train, screw your wife or some other bird on the side. DO SOMETHING RATHER THAN SPENDING YOUR LIFE PARTAKING IN THIS PISH.
........hang on, am I not writing on a forum....
Rant over and back on topic, the only advantage I could think of with massive fame is the rootage it gets you. Read Sugar Ray Leonard`s book, his sword was getting more action that a batty boys backside at an arse rapists reunion.
Fame? Keep it brother. I know what it`s like. I`ve suffered it for years. Having played international rugby for Norway, I can barely set foot in any Western country without hoardes of screaming fans wanting a piece of me. It gets tiring, it`s intrusive and it needs to stop

I hate attention. I hate even going shopping when it's busy. I enjoy the quiet life with the family nowadays so it would have to be the wealth for me. I've never been over ambitious or money orientated either tbh.

Think he might have meant DeGale as the crossover star but i wouldn't class him as one really. He's probably a known name but not recognisable.
I still think the only crossover stars boxing has now are Haye & Khan. We could all rattle off a load of names on here and say who's done what etc but if i speak to my mum, gran or women at work then they'll always claim to only know about those pair

Yes, both of whom have made absolute fortunes. Khan has earned WAY more money than Froch in his career, despite Froch having a lot more title fights.

I was at a mate's daughter's birthday party a couple of months ago. It was like some sort of weird plastic Kardashian convention. All doing that weird hand on hip leg bent slightly outwards and retarded pout thing for pictures. The best/worst bit of the evening was my mate got her camera out to take a (normal) pic and literally all the women in the room turned around and started pouting as the flash went off, thinking they were having their photo taken. Absolutely cringey. They went full retard when a selfie stick came out later on.
