Amazing to think Oquendo is still in the frame for a WBa World title shot all these years after David Tua stopped him. Tua is now retired and never got another shot at a title after Lewis, but here we have a 40+ Oquendo sitting and waiting for his shot.
On that I think he should be fighting and staying active but I think hes just holding out for that one fight to make bank and have a crack

Often intrigues me how exactly random guys like this curry such favour with sanctioning bodies. Who the hell in Fast Fres's team is pulling the strings here????

If your name is Fres Oquendo you have the perfect name for the WBA.

Ha, can you imagine! That would be great. It would have to be held in Bolivia though! The Bronco's grazing land.

Billy Wright is soon going to fight in Paraguay I understood, I expect Billy to win easely by a first round KO. Billy hasn't lost a single match this century I thought.

Big Bad John McDermott. If he has the balls. He's the most avoided fighter in the world. Hasn't had a fight in over three years because everyone is bricking it from him

Probably someone he'll almost, but not quite beat for the title.

How dare you?!
We don't have the right to expect Oquendo to fight anyone.
He has earned the right to sit back and let the winners of Fury v Klitschko & Ortiz v Ustinov attempt to prove themselves worthy to challenge him.

Rumour in Australia is Browne vs Oquendo early December for WBA "regular" title!

After Fres Oquendo takes out Luis Ortiz, he will beat the winner of Fury-Wlad. Then he goes after AJ in a stadium fight. Takes out Wilder in Alabama. After than he cleans out the division of Haye, Stiverne, Parker, Browne, and Briggs all by 1st round KO. Before retiring he gets to rematch John Ruiz in the greatest fight ever held at Madison Square Garden.

Funny thing, I would expect Fres to beat a fair few of those guys. Briggs and Browne definitely and I would pick him over Stiverne too. He's lost a few bouts but he has never been outclassed.

Oquendo would be outclassed by all 4 and Briggs would probably win against all except Parker.

The answer is very possibly Lucas Browne......the man Oquendo would have fought had the WBA not suspended him and stripped him of the title he won against Chagaev.
The WBA were taking about offering Browne an olive branch even before the court hearing Browne bought against them was due to start and it appears things may well have been resolved out of court. The court case was due to start August 4th and I haven't seen a word to suggest anything actually took place.
So mark Oquendo vs Browne down as very possibly the answer to the question raised.

Could be anyone, literally.
Bob McDilland
Jesus DePutar
Abadeo Sanchez
Seriously, have a guess by throwing 2 names together and you're more likely to be right than looking at a credible, known fighter
