I don't really follow the unpaid ranks closely. Is there anyone in the know that can give us the lowdown on who they expect to bring home the medals? I watched the World Series a couple of times and I was very impressed with Joe Cordina. Looks a real talent

Brits I think could medal.

3. Muhammad Ali
4. Pat McCormack
5. Nicola Adams

I think Joyce will do well in the Olympics but once he turns pro I've got a feeling he'll become an Audley. Hasn't he been KO'd like 2 or 3 times in the amateurs? Once by a nobody. Getting sparked in the amateurs is a worrying sign of glass. I expect him to get chinned in the pros.

Cordina and Ali I reckon will have a good Olympic performance and will do well in the pros.

Thanks for this mate, I do like following boxing but like Stuarty30 said not so much on the amateur scene, which I think I should do more of.

I think with a good draw fowler could medal but there's going to be 2-3 fellas there too good for him i think.

Looking forward to watching the irish lads too ward,conlan,barnes taylor all in with great shouts of medalling.

I think Joyce will make a good pro. He brings it, certainly no Audley about him. Big, strong and pretty relentless. Not exactly difficult to hit though from what I've seen. He's lost a couple but he's also beat some tasy fighters himself and is a live dog in the Olympics imo.

Keep an eye out on a 18 year old American Shakur Stevenson.

If he wins gold expect a US media frenzy of Sugar Ray Leonard proportions.
Surprise nation is Uzbekistan. Quality at every weight for them and the Cubans as good as normal.

I'd love to see a major competition were Savon doesn't get robbed.

In my top 10 list of robberys am or pro, he has been on the wrong end of 3 of them.

Joe Cordina seems the best of the bunch, certainly the in form man at Team GB at the moment. Would have said Fowler a few years ago but he's had a poor run since winning gold at the Commonwealth Games. Looking forward to seeing Joe Joyce & Muhammad Ali also.

Shakur Stevenson the 19 year old yank will be hyped to the max if he performs here.

The Cuban team is, as ever, unbelievably talented. The Kazakhs too.

Nice to have a few weeks of boxing while the professional shows have a few quiet weeks

Adams should win gold, Killer Kez Ashfaq is good. Two Leeds medal hopes there.

I know very little about these guys. but i had a look att the odds as a live underdog and he was favourite at 7/2? Have I got the right one?

Yeah, I noticed that! Bit ridiculous really. He's probably 3rd/4th favourite at best.

I think Pat McCormack is a massive talent and seen by many as the best male in our team, I was about to back him heavily for Gold, until he drew the Kazakh in the first round, followed by th Cuban in the second...

i also fancied Okolie to go far but he has also drawn the Cuban early.

All have the ability to medal, but having a favourable draw will likely be the difference.

Liking Joe Joyce's draw, looks prtty straight forward until the semi's
